At first he was going to tell Edwin immediately, but then he hears the loving things Edwin thinks about him, and he just wants to listen for a few days because he's never heard someone "say" things like that about him.

He heard Edwin’s rich and affectionate chuckle, not out loud but in his mind, and realized all at once how aggressively he was fidgeting, the couch beneath him rattling.
