“Anakin,” Rex called, watching with great interest as Anakin immediately snapped his head over to face him. He was midway through hanging up one of their tents as a makeshift tarp. “My pilot suit - I can’t get the zipper.”He’d intended for Anakin to finish his task, but the man approached him with almost frightening speed.
He let Anakin move him so he wasn’t sitting up against the wall anymore, his back instead facing the fire. He found he minded it less than expected, the cave having warmed up surprisingly quickly thanks to the natural insulation the rock provided. Anakin’s hands fumbled at his neck before he paused, one palm resting at Rex’s nape.

Then, the sound that he hadn’t quite become accustomed to.
A thrum of power and danger.
The battle droids screamed and Rex opened his eyes to find every single droid high in the air, floating above his head, flailing and screaming. Something launched out of the trees, blue lightsaber flashing.Or: Rex definitely does not have a crush on General Skywalker. Anakin definitely does not have a crush on Rex. Ahsoka, Padme, Obi-Wan, and Cody definitely don't have a group chat dedicated to getting the two of them together.

Summary
Luke was planning to drown in sorrow after Grogu leaves for his father, in a way known only to a Jedi. By being reckless enough. It was meant to be a small exploration of an old Force Sect somewhere in a backwater planet. He maybe shouldn't have touched a creepy-looking holocron. R-2's beeps where the only thing he heard before the Force left his body, being sucked invariably by the artifact.
Anakin never really listened to anyone; his master would probably write such instances in a thousand-page holobook if he were being honest. So when he saw a suspiciously glowing, maybe a Sith holocron, nothing was enough to stop him from touching it; he could hear Obi-Wan's voice somewhere in his head telling him why it was such a bad idea. Rex's panicked shouts and the trooper's steps were the last thing he registered before darkness claimed him.
Alternatively, Luke saves his family and the rest of the universe with his sheer cuteness and charming personality.
