“Maybe that’s a sign that you shouldn’t date,” Catra pointed out, taking her own life into her hands.
Huntara just gave her a condescending laugh. “You’re not exactly knuckle-deep in girls so you don’t get to judge. Has anyone ever even asked you out?”
Yes. Once, at least. It felt ironic to bring that up in this particular conversation so Catra just moved forward.
“But what the shit does this have to do with me then?” Catra asked, desperately wanting to be far away from this conversation and anything to do with the topic of Adora Gray.
“You write good.”
“Well,” Catra corrected in a bit of a daze. She was starting to have a terrible feeling about where this might be going.
“And well,” Huntara repeated, letting the point float completely over her giant mohawked head, “You can write out what I should say to her.”

While Bow’s recording was thought to have been lost due to…um, user error, Mermista "helpfully" and suspiciously received a copy of the audio from “an anonymous benefactor.” (*cough* Catra *cough.*)

A thick silence follows as Glimmer struggles to take in this information.
The savior of the universe. Fell asleep standing. Then tumbled through a building.
Glimmer was not trained for this.
Catra begins uncontrollably laughing. Just joyful full-body squeaky laughs that she doesn't even attempt to hide. It seems to actually wake Adora out of her stupor a bit, blushing and staring fondly at Catra as if no one else can see her doing so.
Slowly, the queen looks to Adora and then to Catra. They immediately straighten right up, used to being under the scrutiny of a commanding officer.
“Both of you. Throne room. In two hours.”
Glimmer's so so tired of Catra and Adora. Whoever the hell Catra’s soulmate was, they seemed to get banged up a lot. She was always waking up with random marks. For the first few years, it was the normal dings that a kid gets. In her teens, the bruises got bigger, like they were into karate or football or some other kind of contact sport. Over the last couple of years though, Catra had started to receive marks in the middle of the night. At first, she thought her soulmate was a cop (which, gross cause ACAB). Maybe a burglar? She’d hoped maybe they were a certain firefighter she knew. Last night confirmed it though.
Catra, who never had anything normal happen to her, was matched with a godsdamn 8-foot tall glowing monster. How fitting.
All she ever wanted was to hide in the background and be medium-happy. That wasn’t a lot to ask! Now she knew she was bound – completely, cosmically, irrevocably – to something weird and supernatural.
Catra was, quite honestly, scared shitless.

Adora felt like an absolute idiot. She’d only spent hours arguing against that voice, taking notes and studying the types of positions she was prone to taking. Trying not to get lost in those hypnotic mismatched blue and gold eyes or that knowing smirk and stumble over her words.
“Catra?!” she said, trying and failing not to sound too surprised.
Catra laughed easily. “You know, literally three people hit on me last night by telling me how unique looking I was and you’ve forgotten who I am twice! It’s humbling, at least.”

Summary
This series is all my SPOP fics that are canon compliant (set before, during, and after the show), with the events of every fic canon to all the others. They each stand alone and can be read without having to read the others, though the events of them may interweave or be referenced at times.
Order is roughly chronological, except where it's vibe-based. The ones that span many years (especially that cover pre- to post-canon) are mostly at the beginning, followed by those set mostly in canon (or starting in canon at least) and finally the post-canon fics in relative order. Because the timeframes of many fics cross over each other, placement in the series is based off when the majority of their events take place (when determined purely by chronological order, at least. Adora loves her family, and she loves her job. She doesn't love when her family forces her to do things take a vacation right before one of the most important launches of her career. The last thing she expects from this unwanted trip is to run into a ghost from Christmases past.
Catra has never been good at letting anything go. Hence her impulsively buying the Christmas tree farm from her childhood to save it from closure. But when the farm miraculously brings Adora back to her, she knows this time she will have to find a way to say goodbye gracefully. After all, Adora is only here until the holidays.

Adora loves her family, and she loves her job. She doesn't love when her family forces her to do things take a vacation right before one of the most important launches of her career. The last thing she expects from this unwanted trip is to run into a ghost from Christmases past.
Catra has never been good at letting anything go. Hence her impulsively buying the Christmas tree farm from her childhood to save it from closure. But when the farm miraculously brings Adora back to her, she knows this time she will have to find a way to say goodbye gracefully. After all, Adora is only here until the holidays.

“How did a ghost get into the apartment?” Glimmer says.
“I don't know,” Adora says, turning toward the hall. “But I'm going to ask it.”
Even if the spirit doesn't feel malevolent, she approaches her bedroom slowly and signals for Bow and Glimmer to stay behind her. There is plenty of damage an upset ghost can do even when they have no intention to cause harm.
She takes a deep breath and turns the handle, pushing the door open with a decisive creak.
Adora has seen some truly horrifying things as a medium. But no sight has ever turned her blood cold like this. Standing in the center of her room, looking thoroughly unimpressed, is a figure she instantly recognizes.
“Hey, Adora.”
