The NXX Investigation Team has been on edge for the last two weeks. A string of murder cases, connected to the NXX gene, has left the group prone to aggression from stress. Recently, almost every interaction with each other has resulted in explosive arguments, creating a tense atmosphere at headquarters. In the midst of it, Rosa suggests that they go on vacation – a road trip away from Stellis and to the peaceful valleys of Galewood. As it happens, there is a Moonpetal Festival coming up soon, where fields of moonpetals reflect the illuminating moonlight to create a natural glowing hue. There couldn’t be better timing!
By chance, their schedules happen to open for a few days. And so, they all agree to go (and definitely not because they would never miss out on a chance to hang out with Rosa).
Along the way, they encounter several misfortunes during the thirty-hour drive. Yet a sort of silent camaraderie develops between the members. Underneath the teasing and sarcastic jabs lies a begrudging respect for one another – even if they would never admit it.
