Summary
Bill snaps his fingers, and his triangular body unfurls before Ford’s eyes, rolling out over the Mindscape like a tapestry.
It happens so quickly that Ford’s mind stalls out. One moment, Bill is floating above the cushions next to him, and the next there is a tall, three-dimensional someone sitting perched and cross-legged and suddenly leaning way too far into Ford’s personal bubble.
“Whaddya think, kid?” That voice, the one that usually echoes all around him, is suddenly thrust past a pair of lips, a single vector pointed directly into Ford’s chest.
Karaoke and a few rounds of cosmic cocktails end up revealing a secret Ford has kept for years.
Or rather, Bill rips it out of its hiding place, for fun.

Summary
Ford finds it after he trips in a patch of woodsorrel deep in the forest—oxalis triangularis, but painted in unusual, arresting shades of gold and orange—while hot on the trail of a baby Scampfire that left blistering teethmarks in his finger when he tried to touch it. Now he fumbles about, swears on his teeth, only to touch something cold and hard half-buried amidst the weeds.
It’s a coin, slightly smaller than a quarter but with the heft of a river stone, sleek and shiny despite being embedded in the dirt.
Ford finds an anomalous artifact that he hopes will aid in his research. It ends up assisting him in ways he could've never possibly imagined.

Summary
His back hits the wall of the stairwell, Ford running out of room to rear away as Bill hinges deep into his personal space. His heart leaps and every muscle in his body tenses as he steels himself for a fight. Ford fully expects to feel a hand on his throat or nails in his stomach or even a knee to the groin—Bill has always enjoyed playing dirty—but he is taken aback when he feels nothing. No pain, no pressure. Bill doesn’t even lay a hand on him.
He only stares.
A split-second encounter with Bill and his new alpha body turns heated, sending Ford into a spiral that threatens to undo all the self-control he's clawed back over the past thirty years.
Will Ford finally decide he's had enough of Bill's presence in the Shack, and get rid of him for good? Or will he choose to see through to the end this path the Axolotl has set them both on?

Summary
“Stanford?” Eyes wide, he kicks through the ankle-deep snow, stumbling the last couple of feet over to his brother. Ford is standing up ramrod-straight, like he hadn’t just pulled them both out of half a mountain’s worth of crumbled ice and rocks, gripping his forearm by the wrist as he stares down at it, a strained furrow puckering between his brows. Stan follows his gaze.
Shit. Called it.
When Ford suffers an injury while hunting an anomaly in the wilderness, Stan steps up to the plate.

Summary
Bill fully expects Ford to rouse as he creeps closer. Any second now, and he’ll sit up with a scowl and lecture Bill about shirking his duties and interrupting whatever diatribe he’s been scrawling down in one of his little books, but he remains oddly still. Tilting his head, Bill finally comes to stand above Ford, taking in the old man’s relaxed face and shuttered eyelids, the sketchpad resting on his chest.
He’s asleep.
Bill cocks an eyebrow.
The Axolotl has given Bill a new body, and he still can't decide whether it's a punishment, or a bribe.
Maybe sniffing Ford while he sleeps will help him figure it out?

Summary
Stanley isn’t sure what he expected to see on the other side of the half-boarded up door, what condition he expected Stanford to be in based on the uninviting exterior of the rundown cabin he arrives at, the one that made him double-check if he had the right address– but it certainly wasn’t this.
or, Stan arrives at just the right time.

Summary
The portal left its mark on Ford in more ways than one, Stan knows this. He's been through some less than stellar experiences, but things are better now! Ford shouldn't be so stubborn. Injuries are more important than keeping his favorite sweater on for whatever weird baggage he has around it. And if Stan has to force him to actually take care of himself, then so be it. Because apparently, he has to be the one with common sense around here. Unbelievable.
