Summary
A minor epidemic is going around Pentagram City from one of the other Rings, getting the weakest of the sinners sick with cold symptoms like they would’ve experienced when they were still alive. Nothing that anybody at the Hotel needed to worry about, though; after all, Alastor wasn’t weak, his staff was just a little broken, there’s a difference.
When he was proven wrong, his new relationship with the King of Hell proves to be just as strong of a bond as he had with his dear maman. Love isn’t just in the things we say, but the care we show.

"Yeah, exactly like a rut. It was part of my punishment. If I wanted to live among the animals, I should be forced to behave like one. It's only every hundred years now because I've lived so long."
"Doesn't seem too horrible," Alastor said slowly, reaching his hand out to run it seductively over Lucifer's engorged groin. The fallen angel hissed at the overwhelming sensation, and desperately rutted into his hand for a moment before managing to calm down. With his movement, a few more feathers dislodged themselves from his wings, gracefully floating to the floor.
"It's not totally on me yet," Lucifer said begrudgingly. "I'll be insatiable when it does. I'll be molting all over the damn place, too, and I know how much you hate when I leave a mess." He laughed awkwardly at his own joke, even though it had fallen as flat as those feathers.
"Only when you don't clean up after yourself," Alastor said reassuringly, before pulling his lover into a sweet kiss, promising his help without words. He felt a shiver go through the smaller body, before he was suddenly pinned to the bed.
"Fuck, you just had to go and tempt me like that," Lucifer scolded the stag beneath him, already grinding against him. -

Summary
Being forced to attend the boring Sinsmas party by Charlie and her pathetic little puppy dog eyes was bad enough for Alastor, but then everybody seemed to get it in their head that he should be taking advantage of the mistletoe hanging over one of the doorways. Him? Kissing someone? Hah!
Though when he did finally end up standing beneath it, it didn't seem quite so bad. No, not bad at all.

Spoilers for season 2, Episode 1!
Alastor may just be a fuck buddy, but Lucifer decides to show him his finally fully decorated room anyway. A bit of their usual arguing leads to sex, just like Lucifer was hoping for, but part of the way through Alastor insults his cute little duckie bed (rude, not just for the insult, but for stopping in the middle of fucking his brains out to do so). Horny and impatient, Lucifer gives him permission to fix it so they can get back to business. Definitely not his best plan.

“The King of Hell’s annual rut is coming soon. I’ve decided to take myself off of the list of candidates once and for all. In order to do that, I need an Alpha to knot me. We enjoy one another’s company well enough, and you seem the sort to do an admirable job of it.”
More importantly, Lu Morgenstern seemed the sort Alastor could maneuver as he saw fit.
“All this so you can potentially avoid the honor of lying with the King of Hell during his rut?”
He rolled his eyes. “Yes, because being stripped down to nothing but my secondary gender and being selected as the next virgin sacrifice to be deflowered by the Devil himself is such an honor.”
Lu absently tapped a finger where his hand had come to rest on top of his desk. “You don’t believe it is? I’ve heard the Omega selected is handsomely compensated for their time.”
“Which makes it rather a lot like prostitution, wouldn’t you agree?”
“Yet here you are, offering yourself up to me for free.”

Summary
Most people didn't manifest the mark of their soulmate right away. Oh, sure, it happened – it had happened with Lucifer, before anyone had known what a soulmate even was, before anyone had realised such a thing was possible for angels – but it was pretty uncommon.
And it was absolutely possible for it to break – or fade. It was pretty unlikely on Earth, hardly ever happened during the span of a regular human life – but when the souls in question were immortal? Yeah, sometimes things changed. Relationships grew distant, love degraded. Once you'd experienced the bond fading – or worse, breaking? – no, most people were a little wary about throwing themselves into a new relationship.

Lucifer has experienced having a soulmate. Alastor has never been interested in the concept. Something is dreadfully wrong, because Lucifer is seeing shadows move out of the corner of his eye - and Alastor's claws are glowing golden.
