Luz can give Amity an edge, interactions with magic having honed Luz to a fine point and given her a bag of tricks, besides. Amity can arm Luz, granting knowledge and ability to make things wondrous and terrible, given enough time and flesh.
The only problem? They hate each other's guts, sparks flying whenever they so much as lock eyes. How can they be expected to rise together against outside threats when they can't even handle themselves?

Catra stepped into the small clearing, eyes adjusting to the sudden shift. The Whispering Woods, for all their twisting, unsteady nature, had led her somewhere. The sky was visible through the trees now, moonlight casting long shadows over the grass.
And across from her—
Someone stood there.
Catra tensed, her body coiled, instincts screaming at her to be ready for anything.
The woman in front of her looked just as startled.
She was tall, standing rigid as if she had been walking only moments before and had been stopped just as abruptly as Catra had. Feathered wings framed her back, poised mid-motion, frozen.
Recognition clicked, sharp and sudden.
