Always, without fail, the first remark is about the color of her skin. Something along the lines of Dear Oz, why are you green?, with only slight variations. The second comment, because it is never so much a question as it is an expression of disgust no one even bothers to try to mask, is And what in the name of Oz is that?
Which, frankly, Elphaba finds quite stupid. Grym may be peculiar looking, though in her opinion not so much as to warrant such an overreaction, but he is, very clearly, a bat.

She’d thought he was dead — she saw him dissolve, saw the glowing energy of his soul go into her sword, the sword that now feels warmer, lighter — but now she’s not so sure. As they travel across America on their tour, they near a gap in the Honmoon, and Rumi’s dreams become more vivid. She, Mira, and Zoey decide to investigate — but this is unfamiliar territory, and they can’t do it alone.
One month after the abrupt end of a disastrous influx of demonic activity, Sam and Dean are laying low in Kansas City, taking a much-needed break. This is rudely interrupted by three young women in sunglasses and hoodies, banging on the door of the Winchesters’ ‘borrowed’ apartment, and refusing to take no for an answer.

Something in her fingers clung to the ease of hiding next to these two women. Something wanted to howl but was so deeply buried all it could do was bite at its own flesh. Frustration was clawing at the back of the empty hollow feeling. Normally couch time helped. Normally the laughter started to fill her up again. It gave Rumi something to hold onto until she wasn’t drowning.

So, why is it that they can't even look at her?
Why can't Zoey meet her eyes? Why won't Mira speak to her?
The loneliness is killing her, and she feels as if she's growing colder with each passing second. How is she supposed to fix their relationship when it seems like her two best friends-her only friends-don't want it fixed?
Running from her problems worked for years. It kept her within that circle she wanted to return to. If it worked before, what was the problem with returning to her old ways of hiding and avoiding any issues she came across?
There wasn't any other option. She couldn't take the pain of their stares anymore. She had to get away from them. She just had to.

“Was it Jinu?” Zoey asked, her chin warm on her shoulder as ice ran up her spine.
“No, it wasn't him.”
“Who was it?” Mira chuckled slightly. “We won't be mad at them. Just curious is all. Who wouldn't want to kiss you anyway?”
If only that were true.
Her tongue felt like lead in her mouth and her eyes watered. But she forced the name past her lips even as the syllables came out cracked. Broken. Just like her. “Ce- Celine.”
