Darnell nodded, glancing over Robby like he was trying to place him in the hierarchy of important to ignorable and it could go either way. "What's this?"
"MSF FNG," Jack shot back. Whatever that meant, he sounded amused.
Darnell scoffed and looked to Robby, expression going decidedly unimpressed. "Oh, yeah? You here to find yourself? Have an adventure? Do something hard?" he asked, each question more mocking than the last.
And there was that question again, like it was haunting Robby. He stifled his instinct to bite back and kept it simple: "I'm here to help."

Summary
His eyes strain as he finally sends the text to Jake. He paces a bit, having too much excess adrenaline. The warm June evening that carries the scents of fresh flowers does little to settle him. He just admitted to the seventeen-year-old that he may be harboring feelings for Jack. Because he is. Because he has.
His phone buzzes in his hand. He scrambles to unlock it to squint and read the text.
“I’m ok, brother. I was sleeping. A little confused all around about this, and how I can help, but hell yeah! Rock on. That sounds great. Who is the lucky person? I guess let me know what I can do.”
There’s a sudden ringing in his ears. His vision flickers, and then seems to grow distant. Tunnel vision. His fingers are tingly. His phone slips from his hand.
I just texted Jack Abbot the confession. I just confessed to him by accident, thinking it was Jake. He knows.

"Dude," Shen said, handing him his half-finished coffee "you look like you fought a bar and lost."
Jack took the coffee without a word. His head was pounding. His shirt still smelled faintly of someone else's cologne and sweat. And all he could do was thank whoever was watching over him, God, the universe, sheer dumb luck, Jack didn't care who to credit. The important part was that Professor Robinavitch hadn't arrived yet.
Because if there was one class he couldn't afford to mess up, it was this one.

“Michael,” Jack repeats, and his real, full name coming out of his mouth twice in a row snaps Robby’s attention back up to him in the pitch-dark elevator. “I need you to talk to me and tell me what you’re feeling, right now.”
Robby’s heart pounds into his throat. His next contraction takes hold, too hard, too much, too fast, making his insides burn like he’s going to be sick— but then Jack’s hand finds his, blood-slippery and shaky and hanging on tight, and he swallows thickly to say, “I don’t— I don’t feel good, Jack.”
or: jack and robby's biggest concerns are getting through their residency and keeping their relationship a secret— until robby goes into early labor while trapped in an elevator with jack during a blizzard.

The gist of it was this: infiltrate La Puta Madre, get key names, dates and locations, and get out. As if this was an easy task, and not something the RCM had been struggling to achieve successfully for decades.
The Moralintern’s present, Benjamin Setsuna, was a recent addition to the Madre, previously not physically present within the Jamrock locale. La Madre knew a name, that he was Seolite, his necessary business dealings, but had never actually seen the man.
Kim resented that this task had fallen to him, as the precinct’s only high ranking Seolite officer. He had accepted the task, mask carefully in place, but he felt Harry shift angrily next to him at their secondary briefing.

Summary
Memento Mori had started out as bingo prompt in the summer of 2021 and expanded into a precanon idea of Joe and Nicky coming across historical events that they strive to help solve together. But it never goes as planned, and sometimes it takes a lifetime (or two) to see the fruits of their labor come full circle - hence the sequel title of Circulus, and the expanded plot dedicated to my FTH bidder :)
The first story is, Memento Mori and is set in London in 1888.
And the second story, is Circulus, set in Chicago in 1893.Mind the tags of course, but in general it's meant to showcase their partnership, love, and how sometimes time closes the circles left behind from the ripples of our actions.

Summary
It's 1120, and Yusuf and Nicolò are living in Bukhara, having gone into business together copying books. Everything would be perfect, if only Nicolò could get himself to stop pining over Yusuf. But then Nathaniel ibn Isaac, a Jewish physician from Córdoba, comes to them seeking someone to help him complete a manual for an astrolabe plate he's invented. Nicolò enjoys the job, until someone starts making attempts on Nathaniel's life. Now his life, Yusuf and Nicolò's secret, and their corner of the scholarly community in Bukhara are at risk until they can find the would-be killer.

Alternatively, Nicky and Joe's second meeting was over 900 years too late. And neither one knows the other is immortal, or that they've already met.
