Grian scoffed and crossed his arms, "Not so bad yourself." He grunted, the far wall getting the full force of his fury.
However something in his stomach fluttered.
He had never been challenged before...and bested.
He came out of that classroom feeling flushed with a fever that he didn't have, he may aswell of skipped every over class for the remainder of the day because not a single ounce of focus was being drawn from him.
His mind was fully consumed by intricate scars and devilishly clever eyes.

"Hide me" They hiss and OH- Scar does know who this is, this is the one and only friendly neighborhood Trickster.
His mind goes blank as he processes the proximity, He is So Close and Scar can feel himself burning up. His legs are slotted in between Tricksters and his arm is being tugged up to rest beside his head, effectively angling Scar so he almost completely conceals him from the entrance of the alleyway.

Scar explains, “I’m a large-scale life support architect. Right now I design theoretical colonies for other planets and moons, the types of infrastructure you’d need to support life long-term on a large scale."
"I’m a theoretical astro-engineer,” Grian replies, “I design long-haul spaceships for when we’re eventually ready to make those first steps into the larger universe."
Scar gets a funny looking twinkle in his eye, and leans in, “so if you design long haul spacecraft, and I design long-term space colonies, what do you think they’ve brought us in for?”
Grian feels an excited jump in his chest, and leans in to meet him, “do you think we’re colonizing the moon?”
“What about Mars?” Scar whispers conspiratorially, “or the moons of jupiter?"
So it turns out- they weren’t quite right. They have been called in because, as the leading experts in space travel and survival, they are humanity’s last hope. In 5 years time, the moon is going to crash into earth.

Grian just found himself sinking into the comfort of Scar's chest, his wings fanning out in a more comfortable position before he let himself fully sink back. He twisted himself, just a little, so he just place a peck on the underside of Scar's jaw. Though, whenever he tried to pull back, Scar caught his cheek.
"You're so pretty.." Scar whispered, eyes gleaming with gentle love and adoration, the sappy look that never failed to shoot butterflies right into Grian's stomach.
"Scar-" Grian rapidly brought his arm up to cover half of his blushing face, utterly caught off guard and dying with embarrassment. "Y-you! G- Did you finish your book?!" Grian squawked, unable to function when Scar pulled lines like that out of nowhere!
"Yep...now I've got lots of free time." Scar practically purred, carefully moving Grian's arm down away from his face. "There's my pretty boy..." He whispered. Grian's face heated.

"The name's Scar by the way" he said, still holding the other's hand. It felt atrociously disrespectful to offer to clean another man's wounds without being properly introduced to him. "Or at least that's how people call me," he added, holding out his arm covered in scar tissue.
That was the thing about the apocalypse, most people stopped going by their old names. It made grieving their past lives easier. So they found themselves new identities. Scar didn't really choose his own name, people did because of the scar covering the better part of his face and the others covering his entire body. Most of them from the apocalypse, some of them older. Memories of another life he could never get rid of.
"Anything I can call you by, mister?" Scar asked with a smile.
The stranger frowned, considering his answer for a second. Then shook his head. "No. Not really."

They did.
The Watchers altered with everyone’s memories. Dulled them down to be nothing but a player. The love everyone of them carried was nothing. Hurt more. Love less. That’s what they feed on.
But Grian doesn’t know that.

Despite it being over four years since the death of Hotguy, Scar still lives day-to-day with the damage from the incident, unable to work through the trauma from the systemic abuse of the hero committee due to his glorification of his Hotguy days. Cub, his manager and best friend, reaches out to a ghostwriter to help Scar publish a book about Hotguy and the failings of hero culture.
The ghostwriter, Grian, has been running from a painful past for the last few years, hiding himself and spinning his life into one of medial routines in a desperate attempt to feel normal again.
