The labor was longer than he had expected. At first Shadow had wondered if this was something to do with him, but he was assured by Amy and Tails (who played midwife and doctor for him given his distaste of hospitals) that some births are simply longer than others. He had to hope they were right, especially when they were assuring him he was doing a great job. Those words didn’t quite reach him until a pair of lips kissed the base of his ear and whispered, “You can do this, Shads. You’re incredible.”
Sonic, of course, had no medical knowledge to speak of like his brother and dear friend. However, he was there for every step...
He cut the umbilical cord and passed her over to Shadow for them to admire together.

Summary
In the world ridden with beasts, monsters, and demons, an alliance of brave monster hunters is the only hope common folk have to be protected against the forces of darkness. Things are spun out of control once Sonic is bitten by the beast during an attempted ambush and gets turned into one himself, now balancing dangerously between the world of people and monsters.

At this point in his life, Silver was well adjusted to the ever-changing ways of the future. He full-heartedly believed in the butterfly effect after his experience with Mephiles, so with his constant meddling in past affairs, he expected there to always be something different when he returned to his timeline.
His own memories would alter with each shift of the future, but with careful journaling and open communication with Blaze, he learned to navigate the confusing order of events and understand what was relevant and irrelevant to his life.
But, interestingly enough, no matter what occurred, whether it be past or present, he could never remember his childhood. It was a blank chapter in his life he desperately wanted to fill. No one around him had any answers to help either.

It was perfect.
The chattering around them slowly came to a stop and Shadow raised his head. He was greeted with the odd smiles of his teammates and a blue hedgehog letting out a small murr in his lap.
“Soooo,” Amy started, “Shadow! Sonic, do you have anything you’d like to tell us?”
The two hedgehogs turned to each other, raising a brow before turning back to Amy. Shadow just shrugged before returning to messy blue quills
“No?” Sonic said. A small grin sat on his face, “I mean there was this one time I-“
Shadow snorted, looking at his teammates' twitching eyes and awkward smiles. He finished the last knot and reached around, squeezing a glove-covered paw. The purr in Sonics chest only got louder
