Summary
After being allowed to come back to Richmond, Jamie finds himself suddenly in dire need of a new agent. His current reputation and the questions surrounding his recent career moves make the process difficult, until he meets Tanner Huxley, who is willing to take a chance on representing him. They’ll need to work closely, put a lot of time and effort into rehabbing Jamie’s image, but Tanner is up for the challenge.
The team can tell that something is up. Jamie’s behaviour is strange and sometimes veers right into alarming, and everyone has noticed. Everyone is worried and trying to help. Nobody knows what’s wrong, though, until Roy walks in on something he wasn’t supposed to see, and the truth comes out.
Jamie, for one, doesn’t get why they’re making such a big deal out of this. It’s his fault, after all, and it isn’t the first time it’s happened, either.
It takes a lot of time and effort to convince him that it matters. It always mattered. He always mattered, and he matters to them now.

Summary
At the end of 4x05, Patrice abducts River at gunpoint. This time, they go to a remote, isolated manor where Frank is waiting for them. The slow horses do not see or hear from River again for almost five months. During that time, Frank does his level best to break River and rebuild him into a tool he can use, with Patrice as his assisting shadow. This… doesn’t really work. In fact, the process ends up breaking not River, but someone else.
Meanwhile, Slough House is on overdrive trying to find a missing colleague who the Park is all to quick to deem presumed dead and rubber-stamp his file as such. Louisa almost quits, and finds an odd solace in working alongside Lamb to try to bring their missing agent home. She is having a bad one - the maybe-loss of her best friend is tearing her apart.
It all comes to a head when Louisa follows a lead that she knows better than to follow. She is meant to be the last blow that destroys River's resolve. It doesn't shake out like that. By the time they're both rescued, it's a long road to recovery. But there is a road, and there's help along the way.

“So,” Trent starts, keeping his voice mild and professional. “We have all, by now, seen the footage from the unfortunate run-in you had with your father, the night of the twenty-fifth of April in the car park at Coventry City FC’s pitch.”
It would've been traumatic enough for Jamie's father to ruin Richmond's most recent victory in front of the whole team, but when the confrontation turns violent in front of a gaggle of reporters, the ensuing social media firestorm is even worse. Over the next two and a half weeks, Jamie will have to navigate the charges against his father, walk a gauntlet of publicity that he never asked for, and prepare to give the interview of a lifetime.
Luckily, Richmond has always been there to catch him on the other side.

Summary
River Cartwright doesn't like sex, and he doesn't like dating. Somehow, an ill-fated conversation with Spider, the first close friend he makes as an adult, where he tries to explain this results in River finding himself in a friends-with-benefits arrangement that he doesn't remember agreeing to, doesn't want, and can't find a way out of.
It's not like it's... it's not like it isn't his fault. That's what River tells himself. He lets it happen, after all, so who else can be to blame? He doesn't get to be traumatized by this. It's not like he was raped. Later on, when people start finding out, they have a different opinion. To them, it's clear that this is in fact exactly what happened.
OR: Five times someone learned about what Spider did to River, and one person who already knew. Ft. repulsed aroace River, a heap of internalized victim blaming and aphobia, and the pain of not having the words to describe who you are and what's happened to you.

It's the night before the convention, and Mike can't sleep - mostly because Tito, in the bed beside him, is too restless to even try. Tito is restless and agitated, amped up about the show the next day, but he's too exhausted to do anything that might burn some of that energy off so they can both get some rest.

Summary
AU where DXS is a dystopian nightmare, with a branch known as the Department for Enforcement of Regulation of Disciplinary Infractions that oversees errors and misbehaviour committed by DXS agents and punishes them accordingly. There are four tiers of infractions, and the discipline tiers escalate along with them, but at the core, the concept is simple: an agent does something wrong, an agent gets beaten with a leather strap.
The rules and procedures are explained to those employed by DXS in a booklet they are all given upon signing on to the organization: the Handbook on the Regulation of Disciplinary Infractions.

Therapy had been the Fifth’s idea. Apparently the effort of dicking around with locked doors all day was putting too much pressure on them, and Abigail was a “licensed therapist”, whatever the hell that meant. Gideon still hadn’t figured that one out yet. Could have been normal on other houses (like salads, or having an “afternoon”) and the bony old assholes back home on the Ninth just hadn’t bothered.
Or, when Gideon Nav goes to group therapy, she learns new things about Harrow, Silas, and herself.
