Summary
He did his best to suppress his alpha instincts and it makes him feel good. He loves being a safe place for his loved ones.
He feels like throwing up. This is the first time he used his alpha voice on someone, on Eddie of all people. He stands there with his shoulders slumped looking like a kicked puppy. He needs to go somewhere far, away from Eddie and everyone. He is too embarrassed to say anything.
Or Buck tries his best to control his instincts and fails.

“So,” Buck says, head spinning. He’s really feeling the alcohol now. They definitely should have eaten something before drinking. “No women.”
Eddie fumbles as he sets the bottle down on his bedside table. “No women.”
“What about men?” Buck blurts, which is—crazy, because again: neither of them are gay.
They’re just two straight guys. Two straight guys in Eddie’s bed, tipsy, and—and Eddie doesn’t want to sleep with women. Which means nothing.
Beside him, Eddie goes preternaturally still. “I would know, if I—you know.”
“Okay.” Buck’s hands twitch at his sides. “I—yeah. Me too.”
Then, very seriously, Eddie turns to look at him. “If I were gay, you would be my first call.”
Warmth blooms in Buck’s chest. Eddie’s so nice to him. “Dude,” he says, touched. “You’d be my first call too.”

Buck let out a weighted sigh, mumbling something like ‘fine’ before turning to head the other direction. Eddie reached for him, stilling Buck in place. Buck kept his back to him, Eddie pushing out his earnest words.
“You know you’re the love of my life, right?”
Buck’s shoulders dropped.
“Yea, you just don’t wanna touch me.”
With that, Buck sauntered off, leaving Eddie there alone with his thoughts. Of course he wanted Buck, he just—well he didn’t want to hurt him, ever.

“I’m not saying he is or isn't. I’m asking how this attachment affects you. If you think it doesn't affect you, then that's how you feel. But—” He paused, taking a sharp breath in. It felt like he was trying to work himself up to a conversation he'd been wanting to have for a while, but Buck didn’t understand what he was trying to say. “Every session, you talk about him. You don’t only talk about him, I’ll give you that, but we’ve been here for forty-five minutes, and you’ve talked about him for thirty-seven of those minutes.”
Buck sank in his chair. “Are you trying to make fun of me?”
“Definitely not,” he assured. “You told me Eddie made two mugs of coffee this morning. You talked about that for thirteen minutes.”

Summary
The information around what hormones did to bonded alphas was pretty well-documented.
In short, everyone knew that alphas got more protective when their omegas were carrying and thus more vulnerable, and it was the sort of thing people liked to joke about when there was an announcement.
What they didn’t tell you was what happened if the alpha was already very protective, a first responder, and the hormones sent him into overdrive.
Buck and Eddie get ready to welcome a new addition to the family, with mostly foreseeable results.

Eddie stopped in his tracks.
Buck was just standing there, fully clothed and on two feet. Just a slight grimace on his face as he rolled his shoulder out.
“I’m okay,” he said through clenched teeth. He rolled his shoulder again, letting out a loud cry as something didn’t sit right.
Eddie surged forward, hands touching Buck’s biceps to stop him from moving. “No, you’re not! What happened?”
A guilty look crossed Buck’s face. Eddie raised a brow as their eyes met, waiting for an answer. Buck looked down, then back up to Eddie’s face.
“I kinda forgot how difficult it might be to actually take my clothes off and shower without help from a nurse in a hospital.”
Or; After a traumatising kidnapping, Buck and Eddie take care of each other in the most intimate of ways.

It’s not Eddie’s fault that, at that exact moment, Buck walks in. So it’s not his fault that he opens his mouth and says, “Buck.”
Or, Eddie trips and falls into a lightly fraudulent HR-disclosed "consensual romantic relationship" with his best friend. Really, if you think about it, it's a win-win.

Summary
Buck keeps him everywhere. He’s smuggling him into every inch left vacant, because like this, he doesn’t lose him, won’t lose him. Like this, he gets to keep Eddie forever, even if it’s just the pieces and the memories attached. The reminder of him will haunt him and this apartment like a ghost. Because Buck can’t trap him in his apartment and force him to stay, he’d never ask that, couldn’t ask that, but he’s going to damn well do his best to salvage it in some form. He’s kidnapping Eddie’s shadow, no matter how much it hurts, and there’s no choice about it.
Eddie announces he’s leaving. Buck, naturally, begins a slow descent to madness.

Summary
“You fucked him,” Buck says, easy as two plus two.
“I mean—” and Eddie cuts himself off immediately. He doesn’t know if correcting Buck and saying he fucked me is the best course of action at this point.
Buck stares, almost hopeful, as if expecting Eddie to follow it up with a negative on the accusation. I mean, that’s not what happened or, I mean, that’s clearly lotion on the bed, dumbass. Buck stares and stares, and the hope withers and dies, and he finally lets out a short, disbelieving laugh that doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Jesus, Eddie. So what— what, you fuck men now? Were you even gonna tell me?”
Or, Eddie sleeps with the Boston firefighter, and Buck takes it about as well as you'd expect. What's a little roughhousing between friends, anyway?

Summary
Suddenly, a loud chorus of “Happy New Year” and the loud popping of fireworks fills the air, signaling the shift to 2020.
Between one bright flash to the next, Eddie places his hand on Buck’s cheek and leans in, gently pressing his lips against Buck’s. Buck’s heart is hammering in his chest and his stomach flutters at the soft contact of their lips.
It’s just Eddie—he didn’t think—couldn’t imagine…Why would he have ever considered kissing Eddie would feel like this? It had all been just a silly joke.
And yet Buck thinks maybe he should have known.
Buck and Eddie spend New Year's Eve together at a rooftop bar, and Buck thinks about how he wishes he could get a New Year's kiss. Eddie offers. Buck realizes a few things.

"I hope I die first, you know," Buck breaks the silence, turning to face Eddie and propping his elbow over the back of the couch. Eddie looks over with a confused look on his face, encouraging Buck to elaborate. "Everyone inevitably leaves in some way-" he starts, but Eddie cuts him off. "I thought we were past this already, you know why I had to go-" Eddie says, but Buck interjects. "No, Eddie, I am past that. I really am. What I mean is, someday, everyone is leaving. There's no way around it." Eddie sighs and shakes his head. "You know I'm not going anywhere, Buck." "That's a promise you can't make," Buck snaps back, looking down at his bottle. "There's only one of two ways that this ends. Someone dies or someone gets hurt. I'm just saying, if one of us dies, I hope I die first." Buck looks up at Eddie, who's already staring at him. Eddie holds his eye contact and Buck swears he sees something unfamiliar flicker in his eyes. "How about neither of us die," Eddie chuckles, looking down in his lap, "Not anytime soon at least." He fiddles with the beer bottle in his hands. Buck just turns back to the tv, lets out a quiet laugh, and says, "Yeah."

So you can use this human’s name. I won’t mind. Also, he’s not dead, do not fret. I’m just copying the way he looks so you and any other humans who look at me don’t get scared when they see my real form. I picked this human body because you’re never supposed to cross paths with Evan Buckley. So he’ll never see me if I'm with you. Also, I studied your brain to make sure you feel safe by my side. And your brain seems to enjoy Evan Buckley’s physical features. I come from a planet in a far away galaxy. And to answer your question, I don’t need any help. Maybe some clothes. At least that’s what you were thinking.”
OR Buck and Eddie are mentally connected and can’t be apart from each other. Oh, Buck is an alien with two dicks.

“Buck, Karen, and Eddie stayed on the couch and talked while the kids settled on the floor to draw. It all felt so wonderfully normal that Eddie found himself forgetting that he hadn’t just closed his eyes in serenity as he leaned against Buck.
That’s what made the spell breaking so painful.
“Dad! Look! I drew the firetru- Oh, wait, it’s okay you can see it when you’re all better!” Christopher said it so cheerfully, not even hesitating before going back to swapping out pens with Denny.
But Eddie felt it like a shot to the chest.
He couldn’t see his son’s drawings.
Buck and Karen had barely paused in the conversation, but Eddie could hear how strained it became, both of them obviously knowing exactly how heartbreaking the moment had been. Buck’s arm wrapped more tightly around Eddie’s waist, chin resting on his shoulder.”
losing your sight for a week sucks but at least eddie has buck to guide him through his healing or at least through his own house
