"Mom, I’m alive. I came back," Reiner said.
“When are you coming home?” she asked.
He would not be released until after the tribunal. Then he would be sent home, one way or the other. If it came down to passing on the Armoured he hoped they would put whatever was left in a nice pinewood box. He knew Magath would send his mother a rousing little personal letter about his service to Marley, so at least she’d be placated. He’d ask them to transfer his back pay to her account.
