He gets a good look at him now–the blonde of his hair and the way it’s cut short and well-kempt. The back is even and straight, like he’s got a woman himself to maintain it. His face, however, bears a flattering stubble lining the concave of his cheeks and bones. His mouth is surrounded by small hairs, his nose strong, and most of all, his eyes. They’re electric blue, certainly not from around here. He looks like one of those German settlers who’d come and ransacked his own home. Still, he holds that impenetrable gaze, knowing his own blue to be much less remarkable. The hand remains stubbornly outstretched, his lips forming a soft, pink line. His eyes flicker downward to notice them, and upward back at the newly, truly, pissed off looking baby blues. He can’t help smiling.

Summary
Newt holds Thomas's face in his hand and Thomas's jaw goes slack in anticipation, "You gonna brush 'em for me...?" He asks, smiling dopily. Newt smiles.
"Yes, Tommy," He says, holding an arm behind Thomas's back to keep him stabilized. He presses the brush between Thomas's lips and brushes over each individual tooth, taking care to get behind and around them thoroughly. Thomas smiles, his legs parting to let Newt closer. Newt steps between his legs then, encroaching upon his space and trying to keep Thomas's head angled forward so he can continue taking care of him.

"It's another few miles north, Newt," He said. He had this way of talking around the messages he was trying to send about Newt's injury. Never an "I've got you, hold steady, we'll be there soon;" always alike to whatever he'd said now. Newt was normally more fond of this, but now it just feels patronizing. He doesn't want to take a break and make Thomas think he's out of commission, so he's inspired to hold it and keep forward. It's just another few miles, right? That's, what, 45 minutes at the pace they were walking. Surely he could hold out for that long.
