“Hm? Oh, what’s up, Sonar?”
Shit. What is up? The sky?? (He looks up as he walks, just to check.) He hasn’t planned this far. He turns to Malevola for help, but she unfortunately seems just as confused as him.
“Preferably today, Sonar.”
“Fffuck. Um. H-hey Robbie—”
“You said that already—”
“Are you free tonight?”
Or: after Robert fires Coupé over Sonar, the latter invites him out for a drink. It doesn’t take long for the two to catch feelings for each other, and for them to get closer. Over the course of the following weeks, they find out just how much they have in common, and only fall deeper in love.
But love between a recovering addict and a traumatized, depressed dispatcher isn’t as picture-perfect as in the movies, and Robert and Sonar, as well as the entire Z-Team, face trial after trial on their road to redemption. Who knows how much our imperfect heroes can take before they falter?

As if on cue, a new, much more timid meow comes from the box. In-ho and Gihun exchange glances before Gi-hun hunches over to see—
“You just had to jinx it, didn’t you?” In-ho chuckles behind his hand, as a fourth kitten rises from the litter.
(Or, while on a walk, In-ho and Gi-hun find four stray kittens, and Gi-hun tries to convince In-ho to adopt them.)

He’s pushing him, but not away – just further. He wants to know if he actually cares the way he claims to do.
“What do I—” Joshua scoffs. “I care, Sonny. I just do.”
Sonny pushes more. “About me?”
Joshua doesn’t meet his eye, almost – if Sonny didn’t know any better – as if embarrassed, timid to do so.
“Yeah.”
The reply is quiet, but it’s there.
And it’s followed by, “About you.”

In-ho avoids her gaze, too reminiscent of Gi-hun's and his own wrongdoings. God, her eyes are the same – hopeful, and without hope, they look identical to his.
"He was a good person. A brave man." He sucks in a breath. "He did the right thing until the very end. And... he really loved you, too."

Gi-hun was absolutely infatuated with In-ho. And who could blame him? As few interactions as they’d had, there was a certain charm to him.
He didn’t dare hope their relationship could ever blossom into something more than just acquaintances, work friends at best. In-ho was, in even the most daring of hopes, an unreachable ideal.
But that didn’t stop him from having those dreams…

I am Jack’s silly questions. I am Jack’s knowledge that Tyler isn’t real, and all along, he had been me. I am Jack’s stupidity and brain urging him to shut up and try to get some sleep.

Ki-yong likes Jun-ho an unbearable amount. He wants nothing more than to get to know him, to get closer to him, to have him. He just wants Jun-ho, in his entirety; for Jun-ho to be his, and for himself to be Jun-ho’s.
There is no doubt in Ki-yong’s mind that he’s fallen for him – hard. Despite the fact that he barely talks to him, seeing him everyday is more than enough to make this impossibly big crush of his grow daily.
He may be a little obsessed with him. Okay, maybe a little more – but just a normal amount. The good kind of obsessed.

He preconstructs every possibility. He knows the regret in the man’s gaze will not save him. He knows he is unsalvageable, a heartless monster. He just waits, now, for him to let go.

“Was everything fake?”
And Connor stares.
“What?”

Summary
Hwang Jun-ho accidentally rescues the Recruiter, Moon Ki-yong, from certain death, and now faces the consequences — which are having to deal with this extra annoyance. Thinking him useful, Jun-ho drags him into his mission of finding the island, and stopping the Games for good. Ki-yong, whether he likes it or not, is his key to infiltrating the games, helping Gi-hun, and reuniting with In-ho — the key to Jun-ho’s peace.
Ki-yong, meanwhile, faces his own moral dillemas. He has every possibility to betray and kill Jun-ho; but, for an unknown reason, he does not. Is he weakened by this strange man, or is he simply biding his time?
Soon, both of them are in too deep...
( Or, despite everything they stand for, ex-policeman Hwang Jun-ho and recruiter Moon Ki-yong grow close as they fight against the Games and their leaders, in this rewrite of the second season of Squid Game. )

“Feel like what?” When he can’t speak because of his crying, Hank insists, “Connor, talk to me, kid.”
“Like this.” The android’s tone is nothing but pure frustration, and so are his vague gestures. “I’m… God, I should be happy, I should be grateful… I should be happy, but I’m not. There’s something wrong with me—there is something deeply and fundamentally wrong with me.”
( Or, Connor is harassed during an investigation and has a breakdown. Luckily, Hank is there for him. )

Summary
Hwang Jun-ho has never been the perfect father, and being an alcoholic on top of it makes him the worst example. To right his wrongs and become a better father for his child – a teenage pregnancy that shook he and his ex-girlfriend, No-eul’s, worlds – he decides to attend an addicts’ support group organized by his brother’s husband.
There, he meets Moon Ki-yong: a former Psychology teacher fired from his job for unruliness and ‘questionable, deranged behaviour’. The man, older than Jun-ho by ten years, is a self-harm addict who, similarly to him, just wants to find happiness and live a comfortable life, in which, for once, he doesn’t hate himself.
It only takes a few meetings for the two to grow close, and for Jun-ho to start inviting Ki-yong around his to babysit his teenager…

“You know that, Ki-yong, don’t you?”
“I…” He sniffles. “I know.”
“Do you?”
And, when he looks at him again, Ki-yong just bursts into new sobs.
(Or, Ki-yong has a mental breakdown. Jun-ho is there for him.)

Ki-yong pouts. “You said I’m ‘a force you can’t live without’.” He looks this close to sobbing just thinking about it. “How can I not cry?”
Jun-ho chuckles and kisses his nose. “Well, now that you remind me, those were some pretty good vows…”
