“Then why did you look as though you were lost in that head of yours?” Nandor asks. “That card did something to you.”
“They’re just old, bad memories,” Guillermo insists. “That time sucked, but it’s over. I’m so much happier now, living here, being with you- all of you vampires, that is.” God, as if he couldn’t embarrass himself even further.
“Be that as it may, you still hold ghosts, Guillermo de la Cruz.” Nandor offers him the mug back. “I know what I saw, and I do not like knowing you carry that.”

He doesn’t look in the mirror beyond a cursory glance in the mornings as he’s dragging himself out of bed, just long enough to be sure that his veneer of professionalism is holding, because frankly, he has nothing if he doesn’t have that. No one’s called him on his slowly slipping standards just yet, and he intends to keep it that way.
But this morning, his gaze lingers just ever-so-slightly longer than he normally allows. And then, his vision catches on—something.
Wilbur wakes up one morning to find white in his hair. This is—irritating, for several reasons, but that's all it is. An annoyance. A distraction.
There's nothing deeper at work here. There's nothing wrong at all.
