See, sometimes being an animagus came with you unconsciously doing things that normal people would probably consider weird as hell. James found himself headbutting his friends during their play-fights more times then he liked to admit. Though, luckily he wasn't the only one victim to unconscious animagus behaviors. The group had teased Sirius about a dozen times at this point for panting when he got excited or circling an area before properly laying down, and Peter's grinding of his teeth and chattering when he got excited had not gone unnoticed.
None of that quite excused all the weird things James caught himself doing lately though.
