Summary
Stan Pines and good decisions go together like oil and water. His latest bad decision? Going home for Hanukkah. Blame it on a phone call, a guilty conscience, or just plain stupidity. Whatever the reason, Stan's rusty El Diablo is pointed towards Jersey, and there's no turning back now.
Snow's falling, tempers are rising, and Stan's stuck in the middle. Happy freaking Hanukkah.

Summary
Stan didn’t know what he expected. Just a larger version of the kid he had known in high school, really. Sure they were identical, but Stan hadn’t been the person who looked like his brother in a long time. New scars, constant stubble, greasy mullet, dirty clothes, couple new teeth…He wasn’t exactly his best self. Ford seemed to be doing just fine, last he heard, what with his fancy house up in the Pacific Northwest wilderness, so he had assumed that he would be more…stable.
He noted his shaking hands, the relentless pacing he had picked up, back and forth through the room like a caged animal. He took in the unshaved face, the sunken eyes with dark shadows so deep they may as well be bruises. He looked pale and skinny, like he hadn’t been eating enough. Still, Ford stared ahead, hands clutching a book he had picked up during his rambles, eyes flicking back and forth like he was reading the blank air.
What was this guy so afraid of way out here?
In which there's slightly more communication when Stan first comes to Gravity Falls, and it makes all the difference.

Summary
Lemme know if you've heard this one before: Guy meets up with brother. Guy fights brother. Guy fails to successfully push brother through inter-dimensional portal. Absent any kind of Incidents, brothers might have to actually work through their shit like adults instead of leaving it on the backburner for thirty years. Yeah, yeah. You know how this song and dance goes by now. Careful though. Clock's still ticking. Somebody's gotta be at fault, right?

Summary
Stan's heart was in his throat and his stomach was threatening to bottom out of his ass but his feet carried him forward to the door anyway, like gravity drawing him to an unavoidable end. Something strong had forced it open. Something that probably had a lot more muscle behind it than he did.
The door let out another ominous creak, swinging forward and forcing its cold knob decisively into Stan’s palm. His heart had already heaved all the way up out of his throat, and now his pulse was boxing his tonsils with each painful throb.
Well.
Here goes nothing.
Bill comes to steal Ford's eyes. Somehow, Stan ends up in the middle of it all.

Summary
Ford watched the sun crawl down towards the treeline. Shadows grew long in the grass as red and orange dappled the sky, breeze coming in from the mountains cold and smoky as it kicked the fallen leaves across the lawn.
The easy quiet between them went on for such a while it lulled Ford into a false sense of security, not helped by the light buzz of the beer. He should know by now that Stanley would never willingly stay this silent unless he was up to something.
“So…you wanna tell me what that was all about back there?”
A relic of Bill's torment rears its ugly head, threatening to spoil the Pines Family's Halloween festivities.

Summary
“Ford,” Stan interrupts. He isn’t sure where he’s getting the words from, but the intensity in his voice alone makes him sound like another person entirely. “He abused you, and that’s— It’s not okay. It’s awful and evil and it makes me wanna go back in time and kill him all over again. But you’re not stupid for it.” Stan’s momentum, thankfully, doesn’t break along with his voice as he continues, “You could not have known better. There’s no textbook for what happened to you. Or, well, there’s probably a self-help or two, but—”
Ford looks angry and miserable and unconvinced, the stubborn bastard. Stan hates the thing that put that expression on his face more than he’s ever hated anyone, and it’s that thought which makes something in Stan’s brain click and go, Oh. I’m doing this all wrong.
It’s a lightning strike of a revelation, a haymaker to the gut. Stan’s heart trips unsteadily in his chest, but his next words come out iron-cool and silver-smooth. “What if it was me?”
In which Ford and Stan have even more in common than they’d thought.

Summary
This is something gratingly familiar; it makes the hair on the back of his neck stand on end, a shiver run down his spine… it’s a tinny, self-assured thing, the awful voice that carries, faintly, over the waves, a gaudy we’ll meet again—don’t know where, don’t know when…
The truth is this: Ford is avoiding his brother because he is afraid he is going to see Bill Cipher in his eyes, and it has soured the day for both of them entirely.
Bill Cipher is dead. Somehow, Stanford cannot shake the sound of his voice.

Summary
Ford is having a good day. He's sitting in Stan's favorite armchair in the Shack's living room. Dipper is writing in his journal. Mabel is working on her scrapbook. Stan is ... somewhere. Not here. But that's alright. He'll be back. He's fine. The kids are fine. Ford is fine. Everything is fine.
Everything is ... fine.
He just can't remember how he got here.

Summary
“Oh, what the fuck!” Stan yelps. Honestly, this cannot get any weirder. Or grosser.
“Can you understand me now?” Ford asks, like he didn’t just carve a microchip out of his fucking head, electrocute it, and cram it back in, without using sane people things like painkillers or, Stan doesn’t know, antiseptic? Shouldn’t there have been antiseptic involved?
Or, in which Ford's interdimensional universal translator breaks, and he realizes just how much he's lost. Turns out thirty years of dimension-hopping aren't great for language retention.

Summary
“The author of the journals,” Stan said, finally standing up. "My brother."
The author of the journals, his brother, looked at the miniscule crowd that had arrived by accident to greet him. The author looked between them all, and Dipper could see reflection on his face from the light of the slowly dimming portal. The author’s gaze finally settled on Stan, and his posture stiffened.
“Dad?” The author of the journals, his brother, choked out. He sounded absolutely baffled.
Stan’s expression turned equally baffled, clearly not anticipating this. “What?”
*** *** ***
The portal has opened, and spat out Stanford Filbrick Pines, exactly as he was when he left. Thirty years has passed for the outside world, but only a few hours have been lost for him.
It changes things. Especially with the worst memories of Ford's life still hot on his tail, and eager to make a reappearance.

Summary
For a while, he was always waiting to stumble into a rift and see his own corpse laid in the dirt. The pallid skin of a cadaver, his face blank and bloated. Rotting. Always under the last stretch of light, when evening would take its last bow and say goodbye. In the snow, he had always thought of his body, crushed by the weight of gravity and it’s last kiss to the Earth, splayed out like a lipstick stain.
He was damned then, and damned now. The question isn’t will his life shatter but when.

Summary
Real life wasn't a movie. It was never a child's responsibility to fight bad guys, even if they had the power to do so. It was up to adults to keep kids safe in a crisis, and while the world was doing its best to prove him wrong, Reigen was going to try his damnedest.
Because that was what he'd told Shigeo, and he was really tired of being a liar.
