Peter didn't sleep that night.
He stared at the ceiling, at the little bioluminescent stars that dotted the plaster. They were peeling around the edges, now, fading with age but still contrasting with the Landlord White colored ceiling. The stars didn't help him sleep; he didn't think he’d ever sleep again.
He’d made mistake after mistake after mistake in his life. He didn’t think anything would be able to top this.

Peter couldn’t remember the last time he could just… breathe.
Instead, he sits on the edge of an apartment building’s roof and rolls up the bottom of his mask, gulps in burning lungfuls of the unforgiving night air, and tugs his mask back on. Crime stops for no one, not even Spiderman.
Or: May dies, and Peter devolves into homelessness and isolation. Past demons reappear, old wars are waged, and it feels like Peter has no one to turn to, not even Mr. Stark. Like always, Peter’s life gets better before it gets worse, and it gets worse before it gets better.

Techno was something else entirely; crazed, working with Dream to destroy the place Wilbur had worked so hard to build. Phil...Phil looked so tired.
As the sun rose and he watched light bloom over the husk of his L’Manberg, Techno joined him. Wilbur continued to look over the wreckage.
“I don’t have a home anymore, Technoblade,” He said gently, resting a ghostly hand on Techno’s armored shoulder. “No sewer, no Logsteadshire, no L’Manberg.” Techno chuckled.
“Neither does Dream,” He cracked. “You didn’t care much about L’Manberg when you blew it up the first time-”
“Well, I do now.”

Tommy held his cheek, in complete utter shock that Tubbo had just hit him.
"LET ME TELL YOU THE FUCKING TRUTH THEN!" Tommy screamed back, tears pricking his eyes from the mix of pain and reminiscent trauma stirring in his gut. Even though he had only been hit by an umbrella, the stinging on his cheek had his mind racing back to the time Dream had smashed his head into the hard obsidian tiling.
