“For the record—” Tim snaps, "I can’t believe I’m doing this either.”
And then he presses a button on his utility belt, and Jason’s door clicks unlocked again, and Tim swings it open.
“Let’s go.”

Summary
What would happen if Will Byers was never found during the events of Stranger Things season 1? How would he survive the upside down? How would the people of Hawkins react?
Will breathed in a ragged breath. Black smoke poured from his mouth as he tore himself free from the wall. He collapsed forward, coughing and gasping on the cold, moist floor.
His heart pounded in his ears as he shakily scrambled to his feet. Eyes darting around the abyss, he started to run. And he ran, and ran, and ran.
His feet pounded on the ground when suddenly he found himself on a familiar path. Finally, something familiar. Will sprinted through the woods, as a feeling of hope filtered its way through the panic. He was getting there, he was gonna be safe, it was finally within reach.
Castle Byers.
The pain in his chest and legs screamed at him to rest, but he couldn't risk stopping. He pushed himself further, calves aching with each step. Suddenly, a loud screech echoed through the air from somewhere up ahead.

Summary
“Sheriff Hopper,” the man with the silver rings says, speaking up. The sound of his voice startles Mike, it’s quiet and even and measured. His gaze rakes over the five of them, cold blue eyes lingering on Will. “Are there human remains in the bathrooms of this school, or is this some kind of prank?”
Hopper grimaces, shaking his head slightly, as he looks from Dustin to Lucas, putting one hand on each of their shoulders. “You know, Deputy, knowing these kids it’s probably an understatement.”
AKA: Will gets a concussion while the Party find a body in the bathroom instead of attending a school assembly. It's a messy spiral to get them all to calm down, but that's what Hopper is here for.

Summary
Will forced himself to stop thinking. The Upside Down was closed for good. Eleven had close the gate last year and saved them all. His mother, Jonathan and Nancy had taken the Mind Flayer out of him. There was nothing more connecting him to that place. He was clean. Purged. And those stupid chills he got from time to time in the back of his neck were just his brain messing up with him. It was him not being able to move on from what happened in the past. It was him not being able to grow the fuck up already.
Dustin clapped his hands, the sound echoing in the calm night, making Will snapped out of his thoughts. “We can become heroes, Will. Honest to God American heroes. Like freaking Red dawn or something.”
Season 3 rewrite in which Will listens to the Russian transmission with Dustin. Inspired by American Heroes by catchip2
