Summary
On July 31st, 1980, two babies were born to Lily Potter in St. Mungos maternity ward—one alive, one dead.
You know the story from there.
Fifteen months later, Lily and James Potter are murdered in cold blood in the quaint village of Godric’s Hollow. Their son, Harry, survives them with only a lightning bolt scar to show for the encounter. He is soon shunted off to Surrey, where ten years of loveless drudgery await.
A decade later, two letters arrive on two different doorsteps, one to Privet Drive, addressed to a Mr. Harry James Potter, and one to a foster home in Ipswich.
On a balmy summer’s day in 1991, a red-haired girl watches an owl swooping to land on her doorstep, a letter trapped between its beak.
She smiles.

My take on the wrong-boy-who-lived trope. Harry Potter is a certifiable lunatic. Danny Tonks is really a very normal bloke for also being a magic freak. Out of the two of them, Harry is definitely the more likely to kill someone someday, but he's not sure whether Dumbledore could possibly have known that when he switched them...

When Voldemort came to kill Harry, Lily met him with a SIG Sauer pistol she bought at a pawn shop. Seems Dark Lords die as easily as anyone else when you empty two clips into them.
Hailed as the savior of the Wizarding world, Lily has a live baby, a dead husband, the personal enmity of most of the Dark Lord's followers, and not the slightest idea how to put her life back together.
Phoenixes have it easy. Burn, die, rise from the ashes.
For humans it's a bit different. Sort of.

Summary
Harry Potter is a dragon. He's been a dragon for several years, and frankly he's quite used to the idea - after all, in his experience nobody ever comments about it, so presumably it's just what happens sometimes.
Magic, though, THAT is something entirely new.Comedy fic, leading on from the consequences of one... admittedly quite large... change.
This largely follows canon in many respects, but a lot of the more dangerous events aren't as dangerous as they are in canon. Instead Harry has a comparatively normal seven years at Hogwarts, getting a mostly-uninterrupted magical education, which if you think about it is quite an impressive feat for an intelligent dragon.
This fic features a broadly dotty but pleasant Dumbledore, Dean Thomas elevated to a coequal status of main character with Ron, Hermione and Neville, House Rivalries treated as a school in-joke, and a cast of many people who are not human.
It also features Dumbledore teaching classes, though only once he remembers to tell people about the class.
