I was reading a fic that handles the Shaun relationship in a very interesting way and I thought, "God, imagine someone with my hyperspecific parental trauma being thrown into that situation." Then I remembered saying just like two days ago that Fallout 4 was a great vehicle for self-insert fic and thought, "Ha! Imagine if I actually wrote that! I could even fix the ending!"
Sixty thousand words later, it's a stream-of-consciousness mess, but it's certainly fun to write.

Sim Settlements 2, despite certain technical frustrations, contains many fascinating characters. Some of them are apparently designed to drive me, personally, insane. I've heard this trope described as "science bimbo," which doesn't sound very nice to me, but apparently it inflames my passions and causes me to write fiction. Life is a journey of self-discovery, I guess.

Obviously the Oblivion Crisis was filled with turmoil, but the notion that any one person could be the Champion of Cyrodiil, the Crusader of the Nine, the Arch-Mage, the leader of the Fighter's Guild, and a ranking member of the Thieves' Guild, is comical beyond parody. That they might also be an Argonian named Flibbertygibbet is vanishingly unlikely."
Mostly just me taking the piss out of a few quests, but there are some story moments that could use a touch of genuine catharsis.
