Mobei-jun says nothing, only extends a hand to tap him on the head, once, carefully. He stabilizes Shang Qinghua’s temperature with the touch, and watches as his cheeks go flushed.

Any other day, Mu Qing most likely would’ve simply scoffed or rolled his eyes, unwilling to descend so low as to offer even a response to such a lowly jab. For some reason, however, this time he came to a jagged halt and whirled on Feng Xin, one finger raised in unmistakable anger, his other hand clenching the silk of his sleeve at his side.
“You—” he began, only to grit his teeth around whatever he was about to say at the very last second. Feng Xin stopped walking as well, hooking a hand in his belt – he raised an eyebrow, eyes never leaving Mu Qing’s.
And then, Mu Qing blushed.
