Grian groaned, rubbing his head, and found thirteen other people with him in a circle, also having various reactions to the loud voice and sudden sunlight. All he can really remember is a dark void with flashes of purple. And now, appearing in the middle of the forest, part of a cult-like circle, and crash-landing into reality with the phrase “what’s up bitches?”.

Sonic's eyes widen in shock. "You asked me to go running with you because you were bored?"
Shadow glares at him. “Don't think that I'm making a habit out of it."
When Shadow invites Sonic to hang out with him, he doesn't expect it to become a thing. He doesn't expect to see Sonic letting down some of his barriers, shedding bravado, or running with him in silence, but it becomes his new normal.
And maybe—it's a big maybe—Shadow is getting used to having Sonic to himself.

Shadow snarled as he fought against the iron grip of the mechanical hand. Nothing happened. Going still, he settled on leveling a scathing glare at Dr. Deep.
“Okay, get on with it. Cut off my head or whatever you’re planning to do.”
The baby shook him like a rattle. Humiliating, but he managed to maintain his glower through it.
Dr. Deep smiled maliciously and stroked his chin. “Not so fast. We have some plans for you first.”
