“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.

Will raises his eyebrows. “Is that why you came in here?” he repeats, looking back down at the blue flannel. “To ask me about the weather in Lenora?”
“Kind of,” Mike says, and then, “well no, not about the weather specifically. I just– I wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh.” And Will looks a lot more surprised at this, actually, than the idea that Mike might have just wanted to come to his room to make small talk about unseasonably frigid California winters. “Okay. What about?”
“Anything.” The response is embarrassingly immediate. “Everything. I don’t know. I missed you.”
Hawkins, 1986. The world is ending, there are too many people in Mike's house, and to top it all off, he and Will have some things to talk through.

Summary
Everyone he trusted with his secret – Will, Freya, Balinor, Lancelot, and now Gaius – was gone. Arthur would never bring magic back to the land, and he would never let Merlin stand at his side the way Merlin had hoped he would. It was a cold awakening, years of baseless faith dashed against the fraying tapestry that destiny had made Merlin sew into his own skin, but an awakening nonetheless.
Merlin is shaken out of his obsession with destiny and his blind faith in Arthur. Arthur just wishes he knew how to get his closest friend back.

probably the best canon divergence ever oh my god. not merthur but essentially show merthur with how well the characters were written. literally the pacing, the plot development, hello? binged this in one night i’m not ashamed. so so so so good. wowowoww. not a single side character was slighted, genuinely so beautifully written with so much love. brilliant.

"...what?" Arthur asked blearily as the boy set down his food. Merlin didn't even pause as he went to the dresser and tossed some more clothes out of the cabinet. "You... You have an apprentice?" He repeated and squinted. "Why?"
"Oh, you know," Merlin shrugged, tossing a tunic on the bed "In case I die or something." He said. The boy blinked before glancing over at Merlin with pursed lips.
"You're not dying, are you?" He asked and Arthur had to shake his head to try and keep up with the conversation.
"I don't think so... But you can never be certain." Merlin told him with an air of stoicism. Arthur scowled. Honestly. This was ridiculous. Clearly, this was his servant's newest attempt to get out of work (or at least work less).
"Merlin, you're not getting an apprentice." Arthur told him. Merlin stopped to look at the king.
"I am. I have. He's right there. Say hi, Daegal."
"Hi!"
Or
Daegal lives. Merlin takes him on as an apprentice. Arthur isn't sure what's going on. Mordred is also mad for some reason.

Draco’s face crumpled. “I’m sorry Harry, there is no way back.” It was like a bell had been struck inside Harry’s head - all he could hear was ringing. “There’s no where to go back to,” Draco moaned. “He wasn’t just trying to travel in time - he was trying to obliterate his own.” Draco choked on his tears. “There’s nothing ahead of this to travel to yet Harry.” He let out a few more hiccuping tears before finally suppressing his noises of pain. “There is no going back,” he whispered.

this was incredibly good. even the first chapter which usually seems pretty rushed in this trope was really interesting. also none of the character dynamics seemed too forced, loved it. loved it so much acc read it in one sittings. too tired to give a proper review but i figured that’s enough to say.
excited for the second story to come out :)

probably one of my fav interpretations of depression, descriptions and like, just small stuff that all make up the shit show. so well done.
everything between sasuke and his summons, rin. absolutely incredible. sasuke and the anbu squad yes omg. also sasuke and kakashi. also sasuke and the ghosts. just character chemistry everywhere.

It’s not exactly easy to hide that you’re a little different when your job directly correlates to that which makes you so very not normal.
Percy thought that being a marine biologist would make it easier for him to hide his half-bloodedness. All the questions about what cologne left him always smelling of sea salt could be explained by his near daily trips into saltwater tanks to treat different marine life. Why does he know so much about the ocean? How can a kid that grew up in constant trouble sail with the proficiency of a lifelong sailor? It’s his job people!
Except, his job doesn’t explain why random sea animals will come up to him randomly on a trip to the beach and stare slack jawed at him as though he’s some kind of fish-deity (Annabeth keeps pointing out that, technically, he is a fish-deity).or the times Percy Jackson confused and surprised his marine biologist coworkers

“Did you know I have a perfect record?” The villain collects a rusted pocket knife, tracing it up Peter’s arm, over his shoulders, down to his collarbone, as though considering where to cut. Peter focuses on controlling his breathing, fear twisting awfully in his belly. “You may look down on me, Mr. Spider-Man, but for all the righteous suffering I inflict, I’ve never hurt a child. Not once.”
“Y'know, I don’t think you do,” Peter blurts. At his words, Deadpool's stare intensifies. “Have a perfect, non-child harming record, that is.”

There's a flash of gold and green. For one moment, he finds himself standing amongst the Guardians and others. And then darkness again. It feels like blinking; an extended period of nothingness that ends as abruptly as it begins. One moment there’s nothing, the next there’s light.

genuinely incredible writing and character work even with the large cast of characters considering the crossover. this was great, i know little to nothing about the batman people outside the dark knight movies and nightwing and yet i still binged this in a week.
