On the off chance his soulmate is a real human being, well… He would never tell his mother this, she raised him too well, but sometimes Clark wishes his soulmate’s familiar was making him feel just as miserable.

Bruce peels his eyes away from the monitors to look down at the menace on his lap and barely contains a look of disgust. Big blue eyes stare up at him as he rests his chin on Bruce’s thigh, and as their eyes meet, the pathetic, whimpering little whines are replaced by excited huffs, the clickity clack of dancing paws on concrete, and the rhythmic thumping of his tail hitting the leg of the table.

Bruce swallows past the almost-truth of it. In Clark's warm smooth radio voice, it sounds plausible. It sounds like something that could happen.

“Where would you go?” HotGuy gasped, breath rattling. “Can you take me to your lab?”
Grian clutched at his hair with his free hand, consulting his mental map of the city while keeping pressure on the hero's wound. Mumbo’s place, where their lab was, wasn’t any closer than HotGuy's. “I would, but it’s - it’s too far, I’m sorry, I don’t know where to go,” he said.
Then it hit him - he’d been mentally searching for places related to his CuteGuy persona, when his own apartment was not far away. He opened his mouth, about to offer to bring HotGuy to “a place I know,” but the hero spoke first.
“I’ve got a friend - lives nearby. He’ll help. Three blocks - uh - that way, then right and down the road.”
Grian breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed HotGuy had a connection in one of the handful of apartment complexes around where Grian lived.
