What starts out as Art trying to get more information about Patrick’s sex life with Tashi leads to Art admitting he’s never really explored what he likes in bed.
“What do you even mean, explore?” Art asks, suddenly self conscious. He’s such a little perfectionist, checked off all the boxes, straight As, Ivy League college, division one tennis player, first girlfriend at the “right” age, lost it (many times) before high school finished. Patrick can tell it’s frustrating him to feel like he missed something. “Do you mean… touching myself?”
That’s really all it takes to divert Patrick’s attention. He shuts his laptop and sits up, gazing at Art. “Yeah jerking off is one part,” Patrick says, “But I meant what do you like?”

Andrew inhaled deep and closed his eyes for a moment before blowing the smoke out through his teeth. On the other end of the phone, just as he was bringing the cigarette back for another drag, he heard Wymack say, “Hey, my son wants to know if you’re cute.”
Andrew coughed up his lung at that surprise, but he didn’t miss the way that a distant voice piped up with “I want to say yes, sir.”

When one of the pieces stolen from the Gardner Museum is spotted, the FBI Art Theft Program is called in to investigate, and Special Agent Adam Parrish is sent to Boston to confirm the sighting. When he meets the agent who saw the bronze eagle finial, Adam wishes he hadn't, because he couldn't think of a bigger pain in his ass than Ronan Lynch.
Ronan Lynch has been working undercover with the Irish mob in Boston for years. He's ingratiated himself enough to be invited to a party at the same place he saw the eagle from the Gardner, and he's given the explicit instruction to bring a plus one. The ball and chain everyone thinks Ronan has, but doesn't really exist.
Except one could exist.
And who better to be Ronan's plus one, and to potentially take the finial back, than an agent who works for art crimes?
Under orders, Adam agrees to be Ronan's fake husband for the party. It's fine, really. It's the chance to get something stolen from the Gardner back.
But why stop at the eagle finial when there's the chance of finding more of the art taken from the museum that night in 1990?
Even if that chance means staying fake married to Ronan Lynch.
