Oh, it is harmful, Lan Wangji thinks through a spinning head as he feels Wei Wuxian twist their hands this way and that, testing the limits of the curse. It is most certainly harmful.

He tries to put the pieces together, tracing the outline of fingertips at his throat. No one’s strangling him, he’s not-
Why can’t he breathe?He presses his ear to the metal. It’s cold, and the wall presses oddly against his uuli. The sound of the engine almost sounds like a thunderstorm, if he closes his eyes. Ragged breath in, slow breath out. In, out.
Ranboo closes his eyes and suffocates.

Summary
For the Remnants of Despair, it was supposed to be a typical Saturday night of ill-advised male bonding: firearms, explosives, at least one hostage situation, and a running tally of Future Foundation corpses. Somewhere along the line things went wrong, in the domino-effect-that-threatens-to-topple-your-own-empire-of-Despair kind of way.
The Remnants have learned two things from this fiasco.
One, that being best friends and being terrible people are not mutually exclusive.
And two, that something is horribly wrong with Izuru Kamukura.

But then Wilbur and Dream constantly checked up on him to make sure it never got too intense, made sure he took breaks whenever he needed, always told him to ignore Twitter at all times possible, and all in all started to make him think: were his parents actually in the right?
Well, leave it to his other friends to remind him of his place, at least.

Seven, Tubbo has nukes, so if reasons four, five, and six turn out to be untrue, Tubbo can fix that real quick.

“Sure, but that doesn’t sound like the massive favour you were bigging it up to be,” Wilbur seemed hesitant, clearly worried about asking too many questions when Tommy had already warned him away from them.
“Bitch,” Tommy said fondly, relaxing into his chair and ignoring the curious glances he was getting from his teacher and social worker. “I also may need you to drive to my college and talk to some people so that I’m allowed to stay over at yours. You don’t have a criminal record, do you?”
Tommy makes a mistake that ends with his teachers finding out more about his home life than he'd ever wanted them to. Wilbur finding out was just icing on top of the pile of shit he was calling a cake.

“You were warned, Ranboo,” Sam cut him off, cold, as he continued treading through the snow with ease. “You knew this would happen if you helped him.”
Or, the wavers state that if you do anything that results in the prisoner's escape, you will be hunted down and killed as punishment. Ranboo learns just how unforgiving the rules can be first-hand. He learns some other things, too.
