Summary
Mike and Will are roommates at NYU. Mike is a raging alcoholic, and drinking is the only thing numbing the pain of his all-consuming obsession with Will Byers. He is desperate, pathetic, manipulative, and willing to do pretty much anything to get Will, no matter the cost, even if that means prying Will away from the bane of his existence, fucking Carlton.
And for some unbelievably fucking stupid reason, his hand shot out beside Will's shoulder, slamming flat against the door to hold it in place, caging him in, and god, he was too fucking close now. He knew it by the way Will's breathing changed, a sharp, panicked inhale, and a wild look spread over his face. But his eyes were betraying him, flicking between Mike's mouth and his eyes like he couldn't decide which fucking sin to commit first.
“Mike… we should talk,” Will said, clearly flustered as all fuck.
At least, that was Mike's interpretation. And god, was he one selfish, fucking evil bastard, because now he was dropping the match and he was going to light this fucking bathroom on fire with him and Will in it. He leaned in further, his lips a breath away from Will's.
“Fuck talking.”

“It’s ‘cause I’m in here,” Will whispered, almost a trigger reaction at this point, because flirty banter had been something he’d grown accustomed to in California, and he was still learning to tone it down when he was with Mike.

Desperation sits heavy on Mike's tongue. The taste of it is metallic like blood and nails. Will looks at him, half sat up in bed with sleepily confused eyes. It was as if Mike was waking a child from a deep slumber. But as he sat on his knees, tears streaming down his face because of a dream he can only vaguely remember, he found his hand slowly moving towards Will's and gripping it tightly. The words came out of his mouth before he could stop them and when he watched Will's eyes widen at the words, Mike felt instant regret.
"Tell me I'm good."
Logline: When Mike wakes from another vecna-fueled nightmare, he desperately seeks comfort from Will. Will seems just as desperate to give it to him.

"I don't think you hate me at all, Mike," Will says. His back is to the door and he keeps a steady gaze on Mike, who leans stiffly against the closet's back wall. It's hard to see but Will can still make out the glare of Mike's deep brown eyes thanks to whoever decided to put a fluorescent purple lightbulb in here.
"Oh yeah? What do you think then?" Mike walks up to him and he stops so close that Will swears he can feel Mike's shoe touch his. Mike's voice practically drips with sarcasm. "Since I so desperately want to know."
Will watches, as he has been for years. Will smirks and he doesn't miss the way Mike's eyes dart toward his lips, even in the dark of this cramped closet.
"I think there's something about me that you like too much, and that scares you."
Will steps forward and Mike takes a step back. He continues to stalk forward until Mike's back is pressed against the wall.Despite the blaring music outside the closet door, Will can hear the hitch of Mike's breath as he takes a step closer.
Logline: Mike and Will never really got along. Will never had any idea why until they get locked in a closet at a party and Will comes to a very interesting conclusion.

Mike said, his gaze bouncing across Will's features frantically as if he was looking for his next line somewhere between the freckles that lay on the bridge of Will's nose. Will tried to ignore just how often Mike's eyes fell down onto Will's spit-slicked lips.
Will wasn't sure if they were going to overlook the fact that Max and El have actually been dating for almost a year now. But Mike didn't mention it, so neither did Will. Instead, Will inched his face a little closer, so close that their noses brushed and he could practically feel the heat radiating off of Mike's flushed cheeks.
"Yeah, friends kiss," Will said simply.
"Yeah?" Mike asked.
"Yeah," Will confirmed. Mike nodded, almost dumbly. His eyes stayed steady on Will's lips now.
"Okay." Mike shuddered.
"Okay," Will whispered.They kissed again.
Logline: While home alone in Mike's bedroom, Will and Mike realize just how much they've been hiding from each other and themselves. Who knew their deepest secrets were hidden behind their lips and beneath their clothes?

"I can say, you would have gotten me if it weren't for the gun I have held to your chest," Mike says, being pushed up against the wall with a knife to his throat seems to have done nothing to fix the smug smile on his face. Either Mike had always been insane or the effects of the job had finally gotten to him.
It's certainly gotten to Will; when he looks down at the small gun placed gently at his sternum, he has to fight the urge to laugh. He recognized the weapon. It was rare and it packed a real punch, and by punch, he means that once triggered by the heat of being fired and the human body combined the bullet explodes and causes irreversible damage to the body.
Mike continues, "Also, I would be careful with the whole 'threatening strangers with knives' thing. Some people are into that."
Despite himself, Will humours him. "Well, I would hardly call us strangers."
Mike smiles, it's almost manic but still incredibly breathtaking. "Then you should know just how much the cold press of a knife against my skin gets me going."Logline: Unbeknownst to them, Mike and Will are tasked with killing one another by their own agencies. Luckily, Mike and Will decide to pursue their own mission.
