    Jim turned to see the cause of the stillness. Every eye in the room was fixed on the main staircase, where the prince was making his descent. He moved with a regal grace, weaving effortlessly through the crowd, his gaze sweeping across the room. And then Jim's heart sank to the bottom of his stomach.

My interest hasn't waned, and I continue to work on it when I have the energy, but I have no idea when I'll get the next chapter finished.     “Yes… Supreme Leader,” she whispered breathily, pretty pink lips parting for her tongue to dart out and moisten them. A heady fire still burned in her eyes as her bottom lip caught on her teeth and her chin jutted out defiantly.

    His breath stuttered raggedly at her words. They were so close. Too close. He could feel the shiver as it vibrated through her body and then —

    She bowed her head. Bowed, as if in submission, so very uncharacteristic of the fiery woman he had grown to know.

    He frowned, blinking.

    Seeing her like this wasn’t right, wasn't her. How many nights had he imagined drowning in her, bodies tangling in a delicate cacophony? He wanted her, this much he knew now. All of her.
