Summary
Assumed dead after his banishment, Zuko takes up The Blue Spirit mask. No one has seen his face in three years, and he won't let them. It's safer this way, being alone. After a Fire Nation general hires him to bring in Hakoda for questioning, he fails the job miserably and ends up a captive of the Water Tribe. When Sokka is employed by Iroh to track down Zuko and find out if he is still alive, The Blue Spirit claims that Zuko is in fact dead, and in a fit of panic, that he was the one who killed him.

Bounty hunter Blue Spirit Zuko nearly dies trying to kidnap Hakoda and instead Hakoda adopts him 😂 Zuko manages to keep his identity secret for maybe 8 or 10 chapters but for more than half the fic they all know who he is. Because I was mostly reading for the identity shenanigans, I stopped reading around ch 18 or 20 and need to come back and finish it

Summary
I was inspired by "Salvage" from MuffinLance to imagine a Zuko that found a family with Hakoda's crew after a shipwreck, but what would happen if Zhao attacked the Water Tribe's ship and found the 13 year-old prince he loathed.
Hakoda took steady steps to his cabin as he felt the eyes of the crew following him. Most of the crew had no clue to what had happened, all they saw was their captain murderous eyes as he fought a Fire Nation soldier that was hiding in the ship. The only ones that saw what really went down were Bato and Nanouk. While Bato helped Hakoda it was Nanouk that protected Zuko from the curious eyes of the rest of the crew. He swiftly closed the door and stood guard while the crew was distracted by the commotion in the deck. He trusted his crew like he trusted his family, but his protective instincts enhance when he is in the young prince’s proximity.

Summary
In the palace, Zuko was the banished prince. A disgrace to the Fire Lord and Fire Nation, honorless and cowardly. But beyond those walls, to the people themselves, Zuko was their hope. Hope that this war would end soon, that their futures would be more than ash and war. His eyes and fire, bright as the sun itself, were the symbols of the new era.
The citizens of the Fire Nation had always loved Zuko more than they feared Ozai.

Zuko is banished and realizes that his father is a liar, they aren't bringing prosperity to the world. They're destroying it and everything that makes it beautiful. He spends years playing his part, secretly working with the rebels while "searching" for the avatar. He never expected to actually find him, but when it comes down to it Zuko knows what choice he'll make.
After all, a little treason was good for the soul.

Summary
At eleven years old, Zuko was exiled from the Fire Nation and declared nameless. All proof of his existence was destroyed. And then, it was as if Zuko never existed at all.
At sixteen, Lee was imprisoned and sent to the Boiling Rock Penitentiary to serve a life sentence. There, he finds a new family and allows himself to hope for a glimpse of happiness. But even that hope runs dry.
At twenty-two, Lee is once again nameless in the Earth Kingdom. If the Fire Nation finds him, he fears execution. He has nowhere to go and nowhere to hide. Nowhere, except the Southern Water Tribe.
Set in a modern world where the Fire Nation has conquered and colonized the Air Nomads, the Water Tribes, and most of the Earth Kingdom. After his duel, Zuko had fled to the Earth Kingdom where he has been living for the past 3 years, living as a farmer and a healer after being adopted by a nice Earth Kingdom family, presumed dead by the Fire Nation when disappearing while injured, giving Iroh a chance to keep Azula from staying loyal to her father. Given a chance to heal & find people who genuinely care about him with no ties or loyalty to his father, he is able to be saved from growing bitter and jaded after years of failing at a mission. Using his alias as The Blue Spirit as a healer who has learned to use firebending to heal as opposed to as a thief and assassin, he is able to influence views on firebending from both the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes as wells as firebenders themselves. He comes across the Gaang in the harbor town he has been living in, connecting with them as a healer who still remembers how to fight from what his life used to be, joining their cause before they even reach the Northern Water Tribe.
This is a series, I have posted a summary at the end of the 1st part if you don't want to read Zuko's recovery arc. I would suggest reading it, but it isn't plot heavy and I'm not here to tell you how to live your life.
