[ The first of the overall "THE NADIRS OF BEFORUS" series. ]
When you first envision someone being a 'fighter', what would you expect? When glancing upon the one perceived as such, would you imagine them to be gritty, swirled and coated in ashes that go up to the waist, rising up from the ground beneath while spewing teeth from their mouth? Many people have come to ponder the meaning of a true 'fighter' for the past few years.
Especially when it comes to the Beforan residents. While the planet itself has been forming great relations unto itself, and while the methods taken have allowed for it to flourish more externally than it had done ever before, there is a kind of unrest that shakes the surface, rumbles the ground beneath through only the souls. No physical changes have occurred -- only mental.
Here, we witness a baptism in excess.
Here, we notice the first twelve to see it in the world.
But, as much as they see, they know also that they are blind.
