Camelot wobbled, tried to hold on, and it did.
They had defeated Morgana, they had won. And, now, they could reap the fruits of that victory.

This summer in Camelot offers much to celebrate—for the first time in its history the kingdom's enemies are entirely defeated, the farmers in every village are planting double what they’d had only a few years before, and a grand feast is being assembled in the banquet hall.
What the feast is for, Merlin still doesn’t really understand, and Arthur refuses to give him any direct answer except that he’s the king and he can throw a feast if he likes. Only when they’re about to leave for the banquet’s commencement does Arthur finally explain, and then Merlin is left in wonder at what his younger self might have thought about his troublesome destiny, if he’d only known where it would lead him.

As they are being marched out they start to sing Hoist the Colors, hoping that Emrys will hear their cry and come to their aid. Merlin's magic feels the summons and is unable to resist their cries so he disguises himself as Dragoon to save them.

“Shut up.” Arthur orders immediately, hand coming to rest over Merlin’s mouth in an attempt to prevent him from talking. His hand feels slick as soon as he does, the blood coating Merlin’s lips spreading onto his palm. He uses his other hand to tighten the gauze around the knife still embedded in Merlin’s side. Every slight movement sends a pulse of bright red spurting out around the wound and the sight of blood has never made Arthur dizzy until this moment. He feels like screaming, like throwing up, like burning the world into nothing but ash at that moment. He feels like crying. “Stop talking, preserve your energy.”

Summary
One day, Merlin had yet to stop roaming the earth after centuries spent of his eternal, never-ending, existence. As a witness of life, he has seen and observed many things. He has seen Kingdoms fall, Empires arise, countries be created, divided. Plagues. Wars, peaceful times. All in the same. People he held dear die one after the other, and yet here he prevails, cursed and forced to wait for the arrival of his sole and one true King.
He is given the choice to go back to the past. A chance was given to him, to change things. He has a new name, a new identity, but he hopes he may be able to make amends. His body might be young, but his mind, magic and soul is old, tired and, overall…Unrestrained. With the knowledge of the future and the power of his magic, will he be able to make a better future, one where the just and those wronged could live peacefully, at the cost of his sanity and own happiness? Perhaps.
Feelings, however, might be a extremely hard thing to ignore. Even when you're a being made of Magic.

What if... What if Merlin (BBC) had stuck somewhat truer to the legend in a few key ways? What if Things had been different from the beginning? No lies, no secrets (well, not the same ones), no massive plot holes and super oblivious characters. What if it was never UTHER who started the purge in the first place?
This is just my personal take on some Merlin fix-its and what-if stories. Some characters are drawn more from Myth than the show. "
And of course, I own no rights to anything but the story coming from my head, the original characters, and my own settings. BBC, I loved/ love the show a lot (except maybe some of that last season...) and these are just my personal creative ideas/ stories based loosely off a combo of the show and mythology. <3

Summary
Merlin wakes up in Ismere with no memory of who he is after Morgana knocks him out. The Diomare calls him Emrys and, believing that is his name, and that he is a dragon lord, he calls. He's surprised when two show up, healing one, while giving the other a shock.
He's dropped off at an abandoned house where he precedes to make a life for himself. He ends up with more than he bargained for when a woman shows up begging him to take her magical children in. It keeps happening and before he knows it he has six children relying on him and looking up to him.
Along the way, knights pass by on patrol and quickly identify his new home as a sanctuary and take rest there on occasion while passing through.
