Summary
Zuko never wanted Izumi to feel pressured to be a perfect firebender like he was by Ozai, but he had hoped to foster a love for firebending that came from the lessons he'd once learned from Ran and Shaw. With Izumi showing an intense dislike for firebending, he feels like he's failed at that goal.
When he receives a message from the Sun Warriors asking for assistance, Zuko decides to bring Izumi along, hoping that it will give her a new perspective.

Summary
Zuko scoffed. “As always, I am the author of my own unhappiness.”
Sokka hummed. “Years ago, when it was just us travelling together, we came across this fortune teller. I didn’t believe any of that mumbo-jumbo. But then she said that my life would be full of struggle and anguish, most of it self-inflicted.”
It suited Zuko’s life extraordinarily well, he felt. “Sometimes, I feel like I’m the only person in the Fire Nation who has a vision of what it takes for this country to get better.”
Sokka turned to face him, but Zuko looked resolutely forwards. “That can’t be true.”
Zuko turns twenty-five. In spite of his best efforts, the Fire Nation seems to lurch from crisis to crisis. The firebenders have lost their flame, and the situation with the former colonies is only worsening. All the while, he's ill, lonely, and consumed by work.
And on the other side of the country, Sokka has just moved in with one Master Piandao.

Summary
Was it bloodbending that killed the guards when Azula fled from the Fire Nation with a waterbender? As Aang and the others set out to find the princess, Katara offers to help Fire Lord Zuko with the investigation. The extinguished friendship between Katara and Zuko rekindles—and with it deeper, long-repressed feelings resurface. Feelings that Katara won’t allow herself to give in to while she’s still trying to save her relationship with the Avatar in which she has lost herself. It is a horrible realization to have, that perhaps Zuko hadn’t thought this entirely through.
Because Sokka is everywhere.
He is in council, he is in the palace, in the barracks, the merchant yards, the gardens. He is bouldering his way into Zuko’s rooms without a second glance at the guards and dragging him out to go sightseeing, to go to the markets, to lay in the sand and watch the stars.
He is everywhere, and he is beautiful.
Or: Zuko asks his friend to come to the Fire Nation as a new council member, and struggles to survive under these conditions.

Zuko grimaced with confusion and relief at the same time. He looked upon the Moon Spirit shining above him.

Zuko was glad that Sokka was going to be fine, not knowing that this whole event was gonna change their life forever.
