The fear and awe of the Tangled Shore; it's the one thing everybody knows about the Spider. Knowing what there is to know about him, his infamous reputation and 'business' sense included, there is really no excuse you can come up with for yourself nor the the insufferable hots you've been having towards the Eliksni crime lord. The nerve of that bug, doing this to you! Then again, if you can't stop it - why would you? You end up trying to do something about it. It almost goes a bit too well.
On an entirely different note, Cayde turns out to be way chattier than you thought he'd be now that he's dead.

And next thing he knows, he's effectively responsible for lives of nearly everyone he meets in his new workplace/home in the field and has to research a cure for an incurable illness, all while trying to get to the bottom of why there's chunks of his memory missing.

“You really shouldn’t do this.” His voice had a lyrical quality, but slightly tinny on the edges. It was something she adored about him, but her own irritation had her stubbornly staring into the pit below, finding the high whine of his warning tiresome. “We don’t know anything about him.”
Her ghost flew closer to her face, forcing her to look at him, but she waved him away with a frustrated sigh. The light in his little eye narrowed as he continued to dodge her hand, staying within her eyeline as he continued his chastisement.
“We can’t trust him. He could be dangerous or lying to us. There’s too much we don’t know yet.”
The guardian finds herself on new horizons chasing a new lead after the fall of the Witness, forging a path forward into unknown borders alongside a friendly face that awakens feelings that she never thought herself capable of. But can she trust him or these burgeoning feelings?
