The monster was still above him, ready to take his life away. It was frozen in time which means that Ranboo managed to press the button, which means that Ranboo went to get help. Charlie let out another quiet prayer that they didn't forget him, that they'll come back. They had to, if they wanted to show the people secrets that were plaguing the little town they occupied. Charlie assumed it was a town because the mall was huge and there was nowhere else they could be.
Time passed. Charlie looked around, nothing changed.
"Okay, change of the plan." He whispered, to himself or the monster, he wasn't sure.
