“Rumi look! This one's purple just like your hair!” Mira heard a sweet voice, she turned around and saw a shorter girl around her age, black space buns and an oversized slipknot hoodie.
To her side was a taller woman, a purple braid in and a few hairclips.she was a bit taller, maybe 5’7? And she was gorgeous, wait- when did she start staring?
“Uhh.. Hi?” The purple haired girl waved. God, she felt so stupid.
“Uhm. Hey, sorry didn't realize I was staring." Mira chuckled. Smooth.
The purple haired girl just nodded and went back to bowling, but stole a glance every few minutes.
“You’re staring at those girls.” Abby spoke up.
“.. So what? They're pretty." Mira huffed, grabbing a ball.
“Ask them out, or, whatever you would do." Abby scoffed, nudging her shoulder.
“They're gonna say no."

Summary
“Stop that.” Zoey almost yelps when suddenly, Baby is there, crouching not far from her, arms resting loosely on his knees. He doesn’t look like he did when they fought. His claws aren’t as long or sharp looking and there’s no calculating precision to be found in his eyes.
His eyes… His pupils are round for some reason. Most demons like him have slitted ones, why is he different?
“Stop thinking so hard and just breathe for a moment.” He continues. His gaze only briefly flickers to the remaining blade in her hand and back. “If I wanted to hurt you, I would’ve done it while you were still unconscious. But I didn’t. Believe it or not, it benefits me to keep you alive.”
(Or after killing Baby in the final battle, Zoey is struck with a sudden, terrible pain and soon falls into the demon realm. There she finds Baby, back from the dead and strangely determined to keep her alive, and in her current state, Zoey needs all the help she can get to stay alive.
Meanwhile Baby has figured out what Zoey is too sick to realize: they’re Soulmates. It brings up a lot of complicated feelings.)

Here's a little glimpse into the chaotic, traumatized mind of poor Zoey. Honestly this drabble was an excerpt from my upcoming chapter for my other story "We're Shattering the Silence," but I don't feel like it fits anymore and I still wanted to share. This is a deep dive into Zoey's past trauma and how she (tries to) handle it in the present. There's some heavy stuff here - implied child neglect, references to Zoey being bullied, implied/referenced alcohol abuse (Zoey's Dad), Zoey has a panic attack, implied eating disorders, etc. Sorry in advance! <3 Poor Mira and Rumi (and Bobby) try their best, but Zoey needs so many more hugs and therapy. If you guys like this semi-chaotic, flashback-ridden introspective character study, I'd be happy to try to continue! If not, no worries and hope you still kinda enjoy! Love you all! <3

She teased, thinking Zoey would certainly protest. Instead though, her face reddened lightly at the thought, her goofy composure faltering a little. The light tugging on the tie and Rumi's dressed down appearance was NOT helping her mind right now, and the thought of wearing it everyday for them..that sounded weirdly nice.

This is a short one that doesn't super get into the pet play dynamic but establishes it and the conflicting feelings of discovering you have a kink that feels more strange to the general populace. I also just really wanted to write Zoey not as a bottom inherently but a little more anxious about new things.
I didn't write trans Rumi for this one and they jokingly call each other "handsome" and "gentlemen" just as a warning if that makes you uncomfortable!
