Earth barely managed to avoid its own annihilation thanks to the last second assistance of new alien visitors. Slowly, civilizations that had been nearly destroyed through nuclear warfare, famine, and disease are rebuilt with the Autobots' help.
But the Autobots' assistance isn't entirely altruistic. Earth has something they want. Because mixed with the millions of others are humans with spark signatures and the potential to become sparklings. And the Autobots who had believed they were doomed to a slow extinction, have no intention of letting their new little ones go.

Summary
All cybertronians have ingrained in their very sparks an absolute repulsion towards hurting sparklings and a base need to protect and care for them. This is standard to most species, though cybertronians seem to feel it more than others; a command rather than a request. This is perhaps nature’s way of ensuring that the few sparklings that come into the world remain safe and cared for. It is logical. However, no one expected sparkling protocols to take over when cybertronians first came in contact with humans. Perhaps humans and cybertronians are more closely related than first thought.

Her items in the barracks were disposed of, the picture in Colonel Lennox’s office and her, himself, and Sergeant Epps was buried away in a box and replaced with a new picture of the Colonel and Sergeant. They made sure the dead were buried, but Satin wasn’t going to be easily buried, because burying the dead is too simple for the complex First Lieutenant. She was sneaky and persistent in life, and she’d stay the same in death. A coffin lid is just another door to open.
