- October 23rd, 2077 -
The day the bombs fell.Jacob Roberts was a pre-war man born in Seattle. He's lived in a lot of places, moved to a lot of different countries and states, and just when he thought he'd be able to settle down and earn a functional family, the bombs drop. Thanks to the experiments of a capitalist vault company, he's flung into the world of the post-apocalyptic version of Boston, and jumps for the only familiar thing he knows, the army. He meets people, falls in love, and reevaluates what he thought his sexuality was. The problem is, things are just as confusing 200 years after the bombs. Sometimes the people you decide to stand for aren't as good as they say they are. Sometimes the people you trust and love aren't what you think they are. Sometimes the end of the story isn't as clear as you thought it was.
And in order to survive, you just have to take it one day at a time.

A lazy grin drifts across Hancock’s face at that. “So that’s why you dragged me in here. ‘Cause you’re afraid I’ll go blabbing to your higher-ups,” he says slowly. Danse’s hands clench into fists at his sides, a red flush creeping slowly up from his collarbone to his jaw. He looks delectable even here, in the shadowy room he probably thinks of as home, flight suit unzipped to halfway down his chest to reveal a thatch of hair there.
"You wouldn't dare."
Hancock dares to set foot on the Prydwen, much to Danse's dissatisfaction. Angry, then not-so-angry, sex ensues.

Elder Maxson arrives in the Commonwealth & finds something far more dangerous than the Institute waiting for him: a pint-sized terror in a tricorn hat who somehow slips past every defense in his arsenal... literally & figuratively.
This story inspired by askelderarthurmaxson on Tumblr, who got me to reexamine who I thought Arthur Maxson was. ❤️

Summary
After the events of Fallout: New World Wanderer, with the Legion annihilated & McNamara's Hidden Valley Brotherhood group restored, Maya & Boone moved to McCarran airbase to help restore it to its pre-war glory. Though it feels like the hardest part of their journey is behind them, there are still dangers and treachery that they must both overcome to survive in the Wasteland and retain the love and affection they developed for each other.
With the Institute obliterated by Maxson's Brotherhood of Steel, the Commonwealth is finally free of Boston's Boogeyman, though it feels as if the current situation in the city couldn't be any worse. With the most feared enemy of the people destroyed and with no common enemy to focus their efforts on, the factions turn against each other in petty fights. The Brotherhood has taken the role as a tyrannical leader imposing their dogmatic beliefs on the rest of the Commonwealth, expelling and exterminating anyone and anything that it didn't deem "human enough". Out from the shadows of the Institute, a new and more sinister enemy is forced to retaliate in response to Arthur Maxson's iron fist in a war that threatens to destroy the city and everyone in it.

Summary
The idea behind signing up for the Vault program was to be prepared for the end of the world. Quite frankly, Nora expected to live out her life and die in that Vault of old age. Going to sleep and waking up to find her husband dead and her son missing was the exact opposite of everything she thought would happen after the bomb. Now Nora must return to the world she and the other Vault Dwellers abandoned in the hope of being reunited with her kidnapped son, and be thrust into the middle of post-War history as the War for the Commonwealth simmers and boils to an explosive finish.
Is the kidnapping the whole story, or is this just the beginning of something far more sinister?

There are some major canon-divergences as the story goes on. One companion outright dies. Everyone's more concerned about the fact that Nora has a missing child than in the game. I try and remain canon-friendly where I can, but I'm taking liberties with personalities where it doesn't conflict with the original lore. TRIGGER WARNING: Nora's mental health gets a bit questionable. Then again, wouldn't anyone's?Story is COMPLETE: You may notice some changes while I clean up typos though.
