Druig just couldn't drive her away from his system even if he had the will to try. Everyone else thought that was for the better, perhaps.
Surely, it wouldn't be difficult for them to date but it wouldn't last.
God, how confident was he of proving them wrong.
Except that she didn't want anything to do with him anymore, which is why he opted for a night out with old friends, to stop fidgeting over things he can't control but desperately wants to.
"So how's everything with Makkari?". Of course, that would be their first thing to ask.
Ikaris just couldn't help himself.
"I was right then? I told you many times that you both were too- ". But Druig couldn't help himself either. His grip grew tighter on the metal as he stopped himself from taking another bite.

Living through her senses was a unique experience. Makkari mainly relies on living through her eyes, making her susceptible to a perceptual illusion that hearing people do not experience. Makkari was simply better at processing peripheral vision and motion.
The bell rang, announcing someone had either left or entered the restaurant. The sound of a slammed door turned people's heads. Druig's eyes darted, paused —to follow her direction—, then shifted again before he scurried around the corner.
The marching of a man that was trying to catch up with her long-legged strides could never be anticipated. And he knew, Druig wouldn't expect her to be able to notice the presence behind numerous sounds so he wouldn't dare to grab her by the shoulder.
His heavy steps came to a halt to stand in front of her. Druig studied his surroundings to grow conscious of where he stood; the row townhouses and people walking on the landscaped sidewalk. The rush had made him unresponsive at first. This wasn't premeditated and it wasn't like him.
