Summary
1987 went to shit. Vecna brought on what may well be the apocalypse, and Steve fought it to the end. Literally.
Death was supposed to be a one-way street. But knowing a girl with super powers had a tendency to change the game. So when Steve opens his eyes to a beer-soaked bathroom on Halloween in 1984, Nancy calling him 'bullshit' all over again, the universe might forgive Steve for thinking he was either a) in Hell or b) going cracked. But Steve didn't have time to freakout. Not when El finds him and asks that he help her change the events of the future. Not when he's the only other person she managed to drag with her for chance number two.
OR: A time travel fix-it, where 1987 Steve is dropped back into his 1984 self. And now he has to deal with that plus the impending apocalypse on the horizon. But he'll be fine, right? Because, as El informs whoever asks, Steve's 'The Babysitter'. So he gets to work. He can cry later, when he's done.

This is a story based loosely on dantes inferno where Will byers unfortunately has one last faceoff with the creation of his worst enemy, and the loss of the boy who kissed him awake. the boy who finally woke up. (ChurchGate...) He will traverse the interworking's of Hawkins own personal hell, forced to recycle the once present memory of Hawkins into something new. something violent. something completely different than Vecna. -

Will tried to swallow down the last of his fear, but his throat felt like sandpaper.
“Take me.”
Those milky eyes fixed on him, and a warped brow lifted, as if asking him to repeat himself.
Even though the cold seeped into him, like he was drifting backwards into a freezer, Will didn’t take the way out.
“Take me,” he repeated, his voice still shaky, but he held Vecna’s gaze. “Take me instead of Holly. I’ll come to you. I won’t fight. Just finish it already.”
Vecna was silent for a long, agonizing moment, but then, a smile curled across his twisted face.
“Deal.”---
Will offers himself to Vecna in exchange for Holly’s safety.
Mike takes this about as well as can be expected. -

Maybe it’s the lingering adrenaline from the false alarm a moment ago, but Mike suddenly has a bad feeling deep in his gut. Something is off. Slowly, he walks around to look at Chrissy’s face.
White eyes. Rapid blinking. Unfocused. Unseeing.
Mike’s terror multiplies tenfold, heart rate ratcheting back up. He blinks and it’s Will standing in front of him, glaze-eyed and shaking, seizing, eyes twitching in their sockets, stuck in a waking nightmare as the Mind Flayer forces itself into every orifice.
He blinks again and it’s Chrissy, going through the same thing. Or something very similar.

Max turned in the direction of the headstone as well. “Why would seeing someone’s name on there freak you out so much, Will. Jesus, I thought Vecna had you and I don’t have your music with me. I thought you were about to die, and I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.”

“Don’t be, Byers, just tell me what's going on.”
Will just then found his mouth very dry and a lump set in his throat. Suddenly, all the words in his mouth died and he simply stared straight ahead.
“Will.” Max said softly after a few seconds. “Who’s grave is it?”
Will forced the lump down his throat as he answered her.
“It’s mine.”

Summary
Dustin and Will have been best friends since they were nine.
Sure, Dustin’s always felt like the least loved in the Party. See, Mike and Will met and became inseparable when they were still basically babies, so in-sync that they think the same things and do the same things and have absorbed so much of each other that Dustin can barely tell where one ends and the other begins when they’re together. Then Lucas became friends with them when everyone was seven, and sure, he was the third wheel to Mike and Will, but he was still there sooner than Dustin, who’s only been friends with them for three years.
His dad was in the military before he died. Dustin’s used to being the new kid. Still, he… doesn’t like feeling like the outsider. It’s lonely. It’s exhausting.
But even when Lucas and Mike accidentally make him feel like he’s always the new kid, Will doesn’t.

He signalled for the light back, along with the makeshift nail-bat sitting next to the backpack. Mike knew Will was more than capable of defending himself, but he still reached into his back pocket, feeling around for the switchblade he kept on him.
They didn't speak; only Will furrowed his brows when Mike grabbed his hand to place the knife, although never rejecting it. Will's hands were soft— Mike felt how his calluses contrasted, butterflies growing in his gut and threatening to fly out of his mouth.
Mike needed to get a grip.

Will should’ve realized this sooner. The fifth anniversary of the start of all of this, the day he was taken, was just four days ago. It passed by harmlessly.
That should’ve been a warning sign.
Now Will is paying the price for his naive, yet blissful, ignorance as he dangles between the balance of his two worlds.
One of home, one of nightmares.
El's grip on his bloody hand is tight as she tries to pull him from perdition.
Looking up, he can see El’s face flushing with strain, her limbs shaking. She’s tired. They’re both exhausted. After everything she's done in the past few days, he knows she's spent. Her powers can’t–
She can’t save them.
Will can't be saved this time.
But he can save her.
He inhales, taking in his last breath protected by a night of blanketed stars and faraway brown eyes, and exhales.
Will let go.
And he falls away from Eden.
