The only things that exist with him are a laptop, a white door, a chessboard , and a blank notebook sitting neatly in his lap. Nothing in this place acknowledges what he once was.
A shadow of himself, pale and still and hollow-eyed, watches him from the other side of the room. Kira distilled into something emotionless. A version of Light stripped of justice, ego, and ambition.
When the lightbulb flickers, something shifts. A black cat with wide yellow eyes pads out of the darkness beneath the floor—his cat Ryuk.
There is a door now. Kira doesn’t remember creating it. But it’s waiting.
If he opens it, the world begins.
If he stays, the truth stays buried.And Kira stares with that flat, expectant gaze, as if daring him to step out and play the story again.

Matsuda thought absentmindedly, gaze drifting from the notebook ever so slightly. When he read the notebook even further, he was… a little creeped out? On how detailed it is. You need a name and a face, in forty seconds or they die of a heart attack? Why in the world is the default heart attacks anyway?
His gaze went back to the notebook, as he picked it up and opened it again, like if anything different was going to appear from the other ten times he opened it. When he thought about even more, it sounded ridiculous. No man would be killed with a flick of a pen. That’s not how kills work, there has to be effort after all. The hardest part about killing humans is killing humans. However now, this notebook is all up in front and saying:
“Now even murder can be lazy! Isn’t that the epitome of humanity?“
