That's because it IS for a lifetime, as everything turns out to be a scam, forcing the campers on the island for the rest of their lives. The only way they can leave, is if they murder another camper and get away with it, and being caught doing so would lead to great punishment.

Summary
The Canvas Corner was a land that fed on creative desires from earth, the fairies harnessing these to grant color and beauty upon both worlds in return. It was one day attacked abruptly by creature named Master Shokyo, and the land was erased along with every other Pretty Cure in the land that tried to stop him. Orenji, the last surviving fairy, retreated to earth with a mission and a promise he made to his friend, Cure Mastery.
Keiko Sakura, an excitable neurodivergent teen, attends Crafts Academy with her friends to pursue her aspiration as a painter. During open house, the building gets attacked by two mysterious figures called The Erasers, who turn a student to stone and create a monster, an Inkling, out of their corrupted creative spirit to destroy color. She finds Orenji trying and failing to stop them, and upon realizing he's sentient, she saves him and the school by showing her own artwork and becoming the first Pretty Cure to appear in years ; The Pink Painter, Cure Cherry.
Keiko, along with her teammates, Aoi Ayano as Cure Azure, Rei Akino as Cure Golden, Midori Khiao as Cure Lime, and Akemi Scarlett as Cure Crimson, work as the new generation of Pretty Cure to return creativity to its former glory. -

Ever since the solar system was created, the Zodiac Guardians have protected the miracle planet of life. The two most powerful guardians are the Sun Guardian and the Moon Guardian, but they don't collide with each other.
The Moon Guardian's powers expanded into an empire on the moon.
