Everything was okay.
It was perfectly fine. Nothing was wrong. There was no reason to be so irrational. He just needed to get a grip, that's all. These dreams, they didn't mean anything. Neither did the numbers on his wrist, or the fact that he couldn't remember anything before he was twelve. His parents were his parents, his life was completely ordinary. It was all in his head.
He was fine.
What he couldn't explain, he just ignored. It was nothing. It was just him being stupid. The pull to these... monsters. The way he felt this overwhelming need to be in their presence. That was all bullshit.
Or that when he first saw them, when they opened up their jaws, showing their teeth.
That he could understand every word they said.
It was all bullshit.

Steve has powers but never realises it, until he finally does. No one notices how not-normal his situation really is, until they finally do.

Alternate ending season 3: Steve and Hopper have been captured by the Soviets, and Hopper is getting desperate. How the heck can he get Steve out of there, before their plight gets even worse? And if/when, Hopper fails, how can he possibly protect Steve from the inevitable horrors... let alone pick up the pieces in the aftermath?
Follows on from the first one-shot, continuing their story right through (can be read standalone, if you wish.) Once again, not slash or romance between these two. The focus is on platonic (or quasi father/son) bonding amid epic amounts of whump, angst and hurt/comfort.

Steve shut his eyes tightly, bringing his hands to his head as the ache got worse.
"I can’t remember, okay? Is that what you want to hear?" He admitted, covering his face with his palms.
A long, uncomfortable silence fell over the small group, Steve’s heavy breathing being the only thing that could be heard. It had eventually been broken by Robin’s voice, but he wished it hadn’t been.“Steve… you don’t know who we are either, do you?"
Or, Steve suffers from amnesia after his attempt, and the party shows him they all care- more than he could ever imagine.

Peter unscrewed the cap to his medication and downed the pills dry as he rolled his eyes. He didn't know why he even took the medication still, he was Spider-man for crying out loud. The medication probably didn't even work because of his spider metabolism. After the bite all his problems like asthma and needing glasses went away, so his epilepsy that he had been diagnosed with pre-bite should be cured as well. Maybe it was his nerves or maybe it was just habit, but he continued to take his medication as to not disturb the force.
Peter was diagnosed with epilepsy on his 12th birthday after having a second seizure following his first a week earlier. After a couple months they found a medication that worked and he only had five breakthrough seizures since being put on the medication.

Maddy just wants to go home. And Will doesn't know how to parent a traumatized and distressed teenager who hides his feelings through humor.
