Summary
Din stared at the armor, how it moved, and tried to understand it in his mind. His fingers rested on the pauldron and it nearly purred at his touch. It felt warm and it shifted beneath him like a muscle. He pulled away quickly in surprise but as his fingers hovered above, it grew up towards him. The silvery mass moved up and wrapped itself around his fingers.

Din jumped at the voice in his mind and jerked back, stumbling a few steps away.

Din let out a quiet breath at the owner’s call, and after a moment he looked over. “Sure,” he called back, and then looked at Crest. “Sit." She took her paw off his knee to sit just at his feet. The man began to walk over, and his dog walked just ahead of him.
Grogu patted his hands against Din’s thigh excitedly, then stepped back and all but ran to meet the pup.

After all their troubles, Din and his son have settled to live a quiet life - with the addition of a psychiatric service dog, Crest. Every day sticks to a comforting routine until Cobb Vanth and his support dog come to town.

Summary
Coffee Shop AU! Couldn't find any, so I decided to write it.
Given that it was barely after 7AM, the coffee place was deserted. The woman behind the counter was arranging pastries in front of her, and it took him a second to realize that she was addressing him and asking him what he wanted to order. The chalkboard sign was confusing. He wanted coffee, this he knew with a painful certainty, the child’s complaints against his shoulder only reinforcing that foregone conclusion.
Din has retired from the army after twenty years and decided to adopt an orphan. With no clear idea of what to do next, he goes back to the small town he left behind at 18. He is surprised to find out he has not been forgotten, and even more surprised to realize that the definition of home could very well be a small café.
