Summary
Phoenix Vida-Jones truly thought that the world would end not with a bang, but with a whimper. Then, she was shot in the head carrying a platinum chip by a tacky city-slicker.
Fortunately for her, she got fixed up with just enough memories to get her by on her quest for revenge. Guess the world doesn't end with a bang. What she wasn't counting on though, is the past she barely remembers coming back to haunt her as she plans to take down Benny and resolve the conflict at the Hoover Dam. Meanwhile, her developing and probably unrequited feelings for a mourning sniper have her conflicted and looking for love in other places. Enter: the King. And this is all before she's sucked to the Sierra Madre where her heart is once again on the line.
Boone on the otherhand has enough trouble going on just keeping up with the group's antics, let alone the old wounds opening up as Boone is forced to face the past with the sudden presence of Carla's mom.

Starts during the events of Half Blood Prince and goes through and beyond the end of Deathly Hallows. Note that concerning that pesky Major Character Death tag that no one dies that doesn't in canon.
Note that while the prologue is from Draco's POV, the rest of the story is from Harry's.

She played the part perfectly, letting her hair hang indulgently down her back as she leaned back from the bar, lips ghosting over Benny’s knuckles as she took the cigarette between her teeth.
Benny’s pupils flared, transfixed by her proximity, by the shape of her lips, the faintest breath that passed over his fingers, but he still didn’t recognize her. He fumbled in his jacket pocket, swearing he had a strike somewhere, but she waved him off.
“It’s alright, I got one here.”
Benny watched the lighter spark in her hands, spellbound by the way the flame glittered in her eyes, the way she tilted her head back slightly, baring the elegant slope of her neck as she inhaled. When she held the lighter out to him, he caught sight of the big, gilded “B” engraved into the metal, and it finally all clicked.
Katy’s eyes were closed, savoring the first taste of nicotine she’d had in days, but she’d sensed the shift in energy. When she looked back at Benny, it was written all over his face. He wasn’t looking at some broad. He was looking at the courier.
