Summary
'I would like to take in your most abused one,' Castiel says, looking at the rows of doors in the yellow corridor. 'Give him a good home.'
After his accident, Castiel needs someone to help him around the small brick house he lives in and the bookstore he owns. So, he adopts Dean; an omega who barely survived being dumped in a ditch and left for dead. Dean doesn't talk, but that's fine; they learn to live together in the quaint, rainy city surrounded by a green forest. Castiel just wants to give Dean a peaceful life he deserves, and maybe also - become his mate?

For the most part, Castiel ignores her—or tries—and concentrates on the beads dangling from between his fingers, centerpiece pressed to his forehead. Praying doesn’t work, but some mornings, when the coffee doesn’t get him going and the walls feel more like a prison than a home, he sits at the library table and whispers empty words into the crucifix, like Jesus can ease the festering ache in his chest.

And Dean just laughs. It's short and sharp and bursts out past his lips like it’s cracking through drywall. “Hell if I know, Sam.”
“Seriously, Dean. C’mon.” Another bandaid is placed, and somehow it feels like giving a cancer patient Tylenol.
Dean’s bitter smile dims and he drags a hand over his face to wipe away lingering tears. “Sometimes, I just don’t think I can do it anymore,” he says, and it passes over his tongue like it's the aged and erratic gospel of suffering.

Summary
Dean gets cursed on a hunt gone wrong, and Sam finds himself stuck on the road with a scared and withdrawn 4 year old version of his big brother. Sam is determined to fix it. He knows he can fix it. He has a plan after all - travel across the country, back to Bobby’s where they can perform the spell to break the curse. All he has to do is keep this very little, serious looking, nearly mute version of his big brother clothed, fed, bathed and alive until they get there. What’s the worst that could happen?

Dean screamed for Sam when he was in Hell. He's doing it again in his nightmares, and this time Sam can answer. When talking and a dysfunctional solution or two fail to help Dean sleep without descending into unspeakable trauma, Sam finally takes matters into his own hands.
Turns out the best way to make Dean Winchester sleep is to pin him down and cuddle the Hell out of him.

That boy will die on the Stone Table…” She pauses, regarding them. A tiny, razor-sharp smile lifts the corners of her lips, her eyes. Edmund is stiller than Peter has ever seen him. Still as stone. As death. As one of the Witch’s statues. The smile grows to a smirk as she finishes, “…as is tradition.”
Before the Witch can say anything else, before Edmund can shrink further into himself or Lucy can cry, before Peter can allow the dark froth of fear sloshing in his stomach to rise any higher—before Peter can consider the consequences, he says, “Take me instead.”
