A hand closes around his upper arm, yanking, Jason screams. A moment later he feels something crack under his fist, squirming and kicking. This isn't supposed to be happening, it's not supposed to be real.
"Help B!" he's yelling and someone yanks one of his crutches from his bad hand, fingers wretched until something pops and he feels his stomach lurch at the pain. It's happening again, the dust coating his skin, the blood. The clown must have found him, of course he'd never be safe, he was so stupid to believe any of it.
OR
Jason has a flashback while alone in public and gets attacked by a cop, Bruce brings him home afterwards and the family tries to help him deal with the fallout.

But he was just a slave, trapped into the realm of monsters and hunters because Ben was a monster, a psychic, and after getting a vision of the yellow-eyed demon, was now placed into the hands of the Winchesters.

"I don't feel so good—" Dean had figured that out on his own, but hearing it from Sam hits differently. It's the sound of defeat, the most complete collapse.
Sam can't 'not feel good.' He's not made to 'not feel good.' Not in front of Dean's eyes. Dean stretches his lips into a crooked line, takes a deep breath through both nostrils.
The strange mechanism that makes him take responsibility for all of Sam's 'not feeling good' has been active for a while (and this time, he's right).
He silences it as best he can, cursing it and cursing himself. A big, messy, endless internal turmoil, the only visible echo of which to Sam is the slight tremble of the hand with which Dean wipes his forehead.

Summary

One stifling hot summer night, Dean finds a feather, gifting it to Sam. Years later, angry at Sam's flight to Stanford, Dean burns the feather Sam had returned to him.
A year since Sam fell into the Pit, Dean sleep walks through a parody of suburban life with Lisa and Ben. Nights he isn't crawling into a bottle, he spends grieving in the Impala. Castiel appears there one night with a barely alive Sam, refusing all questions. A year more passes as Dean struggles to care for a hell damaged Sam who eventually reaches relative lucidity.
A normal night suddenly turns bloody and violent in the patchwork household. In the swirling aftermath, Sam's youthful fixation on birds rears its head once more as Dean discovers the stunning choice Sam made to replace that simple feather and how it will save all their lives.
