Summary
The field he’s sitting in isn’t very nice either. It reminds him of the wind in the feeling of absolute freezing cold it gives him. There isn’t a lot protecting him from the cold either. The flowers were the first thing to go, and now he is just a boy in a field alone and cold.
Picking at the grass, twisting the blades between his fingers and pulling them out, Tommy tucks his legs closer to himself. It does little to really warm him up, but he convinces himself that it did something. When his hands shake as he pulls more grass out, he tucks himself in closer and rests his head atop his knees.
The plain is too dreary for his liking. The fluffy flowers are gone and there are dirt spots where he picked at grass too long and everything is so cold. Maybe this place was designed specifically to torture him.

“Nostalgia?” Tommy interrupts. He squints at the figure, all confusing tangents and cynical jokes, the bird still perched on his head. “What, do I know you or something?”
Wilbur’s face darkens. He reaches out a hand, rubbing absently at a long slash going through his trench coat, a tear in the seams of it all. Tommy stills.
“No,” the villain finally mutters with a brittle laugh. “No, you don’t.”
…Or: Superhero AU in which Wilbur, upon waking up in an alternate universe, accidentally becomes a villain. Maybe not a very good one, though - he remains insanely, outrageously protective over the very heroes (and vigilante) hunting him down.

“What are you trying to do?” She asks monotonously. She wants him to shut up.
“Well, I’m clearly trying to find something out,” He rolls his eyes. “Anything you want. Shoot.”
“Your life,” Niki huffs after a long moment. She is almost daring him to respond to a dare like that, and imagines how she will laugh when he stutters and says that is not one of the things he’s offering. She will make a mirthless quip about the word anything. He will not respond.
The silence is long, and she thinks she’s right, but Tommy has never failed to surprise her.
“You can have it,” he says quietly. “I don’t mind. Not if it’s you.”
